'Spirit', whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all 27 that I said unto you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, (28 neither let it be 'fearful. Ye did not choose me, but I chose you, and 'appointed' you, that ye should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should 1abide: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it 17 you. the world 'hateth' you, "ye know that it hath hated me before it hated you. 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love its own: but because ye are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world

(20 hateth you. Remember the word

that I said unto you, A servant is not greater than his lord. If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they kept my word', they 21 will keep yours also. But all these

things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not 22 him that sent me. "If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin but now they have no ex23 cuse for their sin. He that hateth (24 me hateth my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which none other did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated 25 both me and my Father. cometh to pass, that the word may be fulfilled that is written in their law, 26 They hated me without a cause. The high priest therefore asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his 'teach20 ing. Jesus answered him, I have spoken openly to the world; I ever taught in synagogues', and in the

temple, where all the Jews come together; and in secret spake I 21 nothing. Why askest thou me? ask them that have heard me, what I Ispake unto them: behold, thesel (22 know the things which I said. And when he had said this', one of the officers standing by struck Jesus 'with his hand, saying, Answerest thou 23 the high priest so? Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil but if well, why smitest (24 thou me? Annas 'therefore sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.

They lead Jesus therefore from Caiaphas into the palace: and it was early; and they themselves lentered not into the palace, that' they Imight not be defiled, but might eat 29 the passover. Pilate 'therefore went out unto them, and 'saith', What accusation bring 'yel against this man? 30 They answered and said unto him,

If this man were not an evil-doer', we should not have delivered him (31) up unto thee. Pilate therefore said unto them, Take him 'yourselves!, and judge him according to your law. The Jews said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death: 32 that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying by what manner of death he should die.

36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world if my kingdom were of this world, then would my 1servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews but now is my kingdom *37 not from hence. Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, "Thou sayest that I am a king.
