9 And God fald unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy feed after thee, in their generations,

10 This is my covenant which ye shall keep be tween me and vou, and thy feed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcifed..

11 And ye fhall circumcife the flesh of your fore skin; and it thal be aroken of the covenant betwixt me and you.

12 And he that is elght days old shall be circumcif ed among you, every man child in your generations, he thar is born in the houfe, or bought with mo ney ofany ftränger, which is not of thy feed.

CHAP. XVIL Nd when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and faid unto 13 He that is born in thy him, I am the Almighty houfe, & be that is bought

21 But my covenant will I establish withIfaac,whom Sarahhal bear unto thee at this fer time in the next year.

22 And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.

22 And Abraham took Ichmael hisfon,and all that were born in hishoufe,&all that were bought withhis money, every male among 1 the men ofAbrahams houfe; and circumcl ed thefleth of their foreskin, in the felf

26 In the felf fame day was Abraham circumcised, and Ihmael his fon,

27 And all the men of his houfe, born in the houfe, and bought with money of the ftranger, were circums cled with him.

CHAP. XVIII.

ANd the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre and he far in the tent door in theheat of the day.

2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and lo, three men stood by him; & when hefaw them, he ran to meet them from the rent door, and bowed himself toward the ground.

3 And fald, My lord, if now I have foundfavour in thy ght, pafs not away, I pray thee, from thy fervant:

4 Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and reft your felves under the tree.

And I will fetch a mor fel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye hall pafs on: for there fore are ye come to your fervant. And they fald, so do as thou haft faid.

6 And Abraham haftened into the tent unto Sarah,& faid, Make ready quickly three measures offine meal, knead it 'and make cakes upon the hearth.

7 And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hafted to dress it.

8 And he took butter,and milk,and the calf which he had dreffed, & fet it before them,and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.

And they faid unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he fald, Behold, in the tent,

13 And the LORD faid anto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, faying, Shall I of a furery bear a child, which am old?

14 Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed will I return un to thee, according to the time of life,and Sarah fhall have a fon.

15 Then Sarah denied, Laying, I laughed not: for the was afraid. And hefaid, Nay, but thou didst laugh. 16.And the men rofe up from thence,and looked to ward Sodom and Abraham went with them, to bring them on the way.

17 And the Lord fald,Shal I hide from Abraham thar thing which I do?

18 Setng that Abraham hall furely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations ofthe earthfal be bleffed in him.

19 For I know him, that he will command his chil. dren,and his houfholdafter him, & they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do ju fice, and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he harh fpoken of him.

20 And the Lord fald,Be caufe the cry of Sodom, &c Gomorrah is great, and be caufe their in is very grie

21 I will go down now, and fee whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not I will know.

22 And the men turned their facesfrom thence,and went toward Sodom: but Abraham.ftood yer before the LORD.

23 And Abraham drew near, and faid, Wilt thou alfo deftroy the righteous with the wicked?

24 Reradventure there be fifty righteous within the city,wilt thou alodefroy, and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?

25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to flay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righen reous fhould be as the wic ked, that be far from thee fhal not the judge of all the earth do right?

26 And the Lord faid, If I find in Scdom fifty righ teous within the city, then I will fpare all the place for their fakes.

27 And Abraham anfwered and faid, Behold now, I have taken upon me to fpeak unto the Lord, which am but duft and athes. 28Peradventure there that lack five of the fifty righ teous: wilt thou deffroy all the city for lack of five? Ard he fald,IfI find there four. ty and five, I will not de froy ft.

29 And he fpake unto him yet again, and fald, Perad. venture there fhall be four. ty found there. And hefaid, I will not do in for fourties fake.

30 And he fald unto him, Oh let not the Lord be an gry, and I will fpeak: Per adventure there that thirty be found there. And he fald, I will not do it. If I find thirty there.

31 And he fald, Behold now, I have taken upon me ro fpeak unto the LORD: Peradventure there fhall be
