About the author (1990)

A. W. RICHARD SIPE, an ordained Roman Catholic Priest, is now retired from the active ministry and lives in Maryland, where he is a psychotherapist in private practice. He also lectures in family therapy at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, where he has held an appointment since 1972.
