THE practical utility of this Work must be sufficiently obvious on the slightest inspection, and the merit and accuracy of its execution have been proved by abundant testimonies, and by the favourable reception of successive large Editions published during the last twenty years.

Neither labour nor expence have been spared to render this Edition perfect and correct, and in all respects superior to any that have preceded it; but the multiplicity of the objects which the Work embraces, rendering it impossible to avoid some errors or omissions, the Editor respectfully solicits the communication of corrections and suggestions, addressed to him, at No. 39, Paternoster Row.
