Separate thy felf, I pray thee, from me: If thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left. 10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well wa tered every where, before the LORD de ftroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comeft unto Zoar. 11 Then Lot chofe him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed caft: and they fe parated themselves the one from the other. 12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his terr toward Sodom. 13 But the men of Sodom were wicked; and finners before the LORD, exceedingly." 149 And the LORD faid unto Abram, after that Lot was feparated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art, north-ward, and fouth-ward, and east-ward, and weft-ward. 15 For all the land which thou feeft, tothee will I give it, and to thy feed for ever. 16 And I will make thy feed as the duft of the earth: fo that if a man can mumber the duft of the earth, then fhall thy feed alfo be numbred. 17 Arife, walk through the land, in the length of it, and in the breadth of it: for I will give it unto thee. 18 Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre which in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD. XVII. 1 The covenant is renewed. 5 Abrams name Nd when Abram was ninety years old 2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. 3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, faying, 4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee,and thou shalt be a father ofmany nations. 5 Neither hall thy name any more be called Abram; but thy name fhall be Abraham, for a father of many nations have I made thee. 6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee; and kings fhall come out of thee. 7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee, and thy feed after thee, in their generations for an everlasting covenant;to be 2 God unto thee, and to thy feed after thee. 8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy feed after thee, the land wherein thou art a ftranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting poffeflion; and I will be their God. 94 And God faid unto Abram, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy feed after thee in their generations. 10 This is my covenant, which ye shall keep between me, and you, and thy feed after thee; Every man-child among you shall be circumcited. 11 And ye hall circumcife the flesh of your fore-skin, and it fhall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you. 12 And he that is eight days old shall be circumcifed among you, every man-child in your generations, he that is born in the houfe, or bought with money of any tranger, which is not of thy feed." 13 He that is born in the houfe, and he that is bought with thy money, muft needs be circumcifed: and my covenant shall be in your fieth for an everlasting covenant. 14 And the uncircumcifed man-child whofe flesh of his fore-skin is not circumcited, that foul fhall be cut off from his people: he hath broken my covenant. 15. And God faid unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah ball her name be. 16 And I will blets her, and give thee a fon alfo of her: yea, I will blefs her, and the thall be a mother of nations; kings of people fhall be of her. 17 Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and laid in his heart, Shall a child he born unto him that is an hundred years old? and fhall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear? 18 And Abraham faid unto God, O that Ifhmael might live before thee! 19 And God faid, Sarah thy wife fhall bear thee a fon indeed; and thou shalt call his name Ifaac: and I will eftablish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his feed after him. 20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: behold, I have bleffed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceeding ly : |
