unto them, There fhall none be defiled for the dead among his people.

2 But for his kin that is near unto him, that is, for his mother, and for his father, and for his fon, and for his daughter, and for his brother,

3 And for his fifter a virgin, that is nigh unto him, which hath had no kuiband; for her may he be defiled.

4 But he shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.

5 They fhall not make baldnefs upon their head; neither thall they have off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.

6 They shall be holy unto their God, and not profane the name of their God: for the offerings of the LORD made by fire and the bread of their God, they do offer; therefore they shall be holy.

7 They fhall not take a wife that is a whore, or profane; neither shall they take A woman put away from her husband for he is holy unto his God.

8 Thou shalt fanctify him therefore; for he offereth the bread of thy God: he shall be holy unto thee: for I the LORD, which fanctify you, am holy.

9And the daughter of any prieft, if the protane herself by playing the whore, the profaneth her father: the thall be burnt with

fire.

10 And be that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whofe head the anointing oil was poured, and that is confecrated to put on the garments, thall not uncover his head, nor rend his clothes;

11 Neither fhall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father or for his mother;

12 Neither hall he go out of the fanctuary, nor profane the fanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the LORD.

13 And he shall take a wife in her virgi nity.

14 A widow, or a divorced woman, or pro. fane, or an harlot, thefe fhall he not take : but he fhall take a virgin of his own people to wife.

15 Neither fhall he profane his feed a mong his people: for I the LORD do fanc tify him.

16And the LORD fpake unto Mofes, faying, 17 Speak unto Aaron, faying, Whofoever be he of thy feed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God:

18 For whatsoever man be be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach; a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nofe, or any thing fuperfluous,

19 Or a man that, is broken-footed, or broken-handed,

20 Or crooked-backed, of a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or fcabbed, or hath his ftones broken:

21 No man that, hath a blemish, of the feed of Aaron the priest, fhall come nigh to offer the offerings of the LORD made by tire: he hath a blemish, he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God.

22 He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy;

23 Only he shall not go in unto the veil, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish: that he profane not my fanc tuaries: for 1 the LORD do fanctify them.

24 And Mofes told it unto Aaron, and to his fons, and unto all the children of Ifrael. CHAP. XXII. Thepriests in their uncleanness mußt abfain from holy things. 10 Who of the pricfe's house may eat of the holy things.

AND the LORD fpake unto Mofes, faying,

2 Speak unto Aaron, and to his fons, that they feparate themfelves from the holy things of the children of Ifrael, and that they profane not my holy name in those things which they hallow unto me: I am the LORD.

3 Say unto them, Whofoever be be of all your feed, among your generations, that go eth unto the holy things, which the children of Ifrael hallow unto the LORD, having bis uncleannefs upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my prefence: I am the LORD.

4 What man foever of the feed of Aaron is a leper, or hath a running iffue, he thall not eat of the holy things until he be clean. And whofo toucheth any thing that is un. clean by the dead, er a man whofe feed go. eth from him;

5 Or whofoever toucheth any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take unclean. nefs, whatfoever uncleanness he hath;

6 The foul which hath touched any fuch fhall be unclean until even, and thall not eat of the holy things, unless he wash his feth with water.

7 And when the fun is down he thall be clean, and fhall afterward eat of the holy things, because it is his food.

8 That which dieth of itfelf, or is tora with beafs, he fhall not eat, to defile him. felf therewith: I am the LORD.

9 They fhall therefore keep mine ordi. | nance, left they bear fin for it, and die therefore, if they profane it: I the LORD do fanctify them.

10 There shall no ftranger eat of the holy thing: a fojourner of the prieft, or an hired fervant, fhall not eat of the holy thing,

11 But if the priest buy any foul with his money, he shall eat of it, and he that is born in his houfe: they shall eat of his meat.

12 If the priest's daughter alfo be married unto a ftranger, the may not eat of an of fering of the holy things.

13 But if the priest's daughter be a widow, or divorced, and have no child, and is re turned unto her father's houfe, as in her youth, the fhall eat of her father's meat;

Chap. xxiii.

14 And it a man eat of the holy thing unwittingly, then he shall put the fifth part thereof unto it, and thall give it unto the priest with the holy thing.

15 And they thall not profane the holy things of the children of Ifrael, which they offer unto the LORD;

16 Or fufer them to bear the iniquity of trefpals, when they eat their holy things: for I the Lowe do fanctify them.

17 And the LORD spake unto Mofes, laylag,

18 Speak unto Aaron, and to his fons, and unto all the children of Ifrael, and fay unto them, Whatsoever be be of the houfe of Ifrael, or of the strangers in Ifrael, that will offer his oblation for all his vows, and for all his free will offerings, which they will offer unto the LORD for a burnt-offering;

19 Ye fall ofer at your own will a male without blemish, of the beevse, of the sheep, or of the goats.

20 Bar whatsoever hath a blemish, that fhall ye not offer; for it shall not be acceptable for you.

21 And whofoever offereth a facrifice of peace-offerings unto the LORD to accomplint bis vow, or a free-will-offering in beeves or fheep, it ball be perfect to be accepted; there fhall be no blemish therein.

22 Blind, or broken, or maimed, or having a wen, or fourvy, or fcabbed, ye shall not offer thefe unto the LORD, nor make an offer. ing by fire of them upon the altar unto the LORD.

23 Either a bullock or a lamb that hath any thing fuperfluous or lacking in his parts, that mayett thou offer for a free-will-offering; but for a vow it fhall not be accepted.

24 Ye thall not offer unto the LORD that which is bruifed, or crushed, or broken, or cat; neither thall ye make any offering thereof in your land.

25 Neither from a ftranger's hand fhall ye offer the bread of your God of any of thefe; because their corruption is in them, and ble mhes be in them: they fhall not be accepted

for you.

20 And the LORD spake unto Mofes, fay ing,

27 When a bullock, or a fheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then it shall be feven days un. der the dam; and from the eighth day and thenceforth it shall be accepted for an ostering made by fire unto the LORD.

28 And whether it be cow or ewe, ye shall not kill it and her young both in one day. 29 And when ye will offer a facrifice of thanksgiving unto the LORD, offer it at your

own will.

30 On the fame day it shall be eaten up; ye fhall leave none of it until the morrow: I am the LORD.

31 Therefore fhall ye keep my commandments, and do them: I am the LORD.

32 Neither hall ye profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Ifrael: I am the LORD which hallow you, 31 That brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD. Of fundry feafit. fay unto them, Concerning the fearts of the LORD, which ye thall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my fearts.

3 Six days thall work be done; but the feventh day is the fabbath of reit, an holy convocation, ye shall do no work therein: it is the fabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.

4¶ These are the feafts of the LORD, EVEN holy convocations which ye shall proclaim in their feafons.

5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD's paffover.

6 And on the fifteenth day of the fame month is the feaft of unleavened bread unto the LORD: feven days ye muft eat unleavened bread.

7 In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye thall do no fervile work therein. 8 But ye thall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD feven days: in the feventh day is an holy convocation; ye shall do no fervile work therein.

9¶ And the LORD fpake unto Moses, say. ing,

To Speak unto the children of Ifrael, and fay unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and thall reap the harvest thereof, then ye thall bring a theaf of the firft-fruits of your harvest unto the priest;

If And he thall wave the theaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the mor. row after the fabbath the priest fhall wave it.

12 And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the theaf an he-lamb without blemish of the first year, for a burnt-offering unto the LORD.

13 And the meat-offering thereof shall be two tenth-deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto the LORD for a Tweet favour; and the drink-offering thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of an hin.

14 And ye shall eat neither bread, nor parched corn, nor green ears, until the selffame day that ye have brought an offering unto your God: it shall be a ftatute for ever throughout your generations, in all your dwellings.

15 And ye fhall count unto you from the morrow after the fabbath, from the day that ye brought the theaf of the wave-offering; feven fabbaths shall be complete:

16 Even unto the morrow after the feventh fabbath fhall ye number fifty days, and ye fhall offer a new meat-offering unto the

LORD.

17 Ye fhall bring out of your habitations two wave-loaves of two tenth-deals: they thall be of fine flour, they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firft-fruits unto the LORD,

18 And ye shall offer with the bread feven lambs without blemish of the first year, and one young bullock, and two rams: they shall be for a burnt-offering unto the LORD, with their meat-offering, and their drink-offerings, even an offering made by fire, of fweet favour unto the LORD.

19 Then ye shall facrince one kid of the goats for a fin-offering, and two lambs of the rit year for a facrifice of peace-offerings, the bread of the firft-fruits, vera wa with them,

23¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, say. Ing,

24 Speak unto the children of Ifrael, fayIng, In the feventh month, in the first day of the month, thall ye have a fabbath, a me. morial of blowing of trumpets, an holy con

vocation.

25 Ye thall do no fervile work therein: but ye thall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

40 And ye shall take you on the firft day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palmtrees, and the boughs of thick trees, and wil lows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice :fore the LORD your God feven days.

41 And ye shall keep it a feaft unto the LORD feven days in the year: it shall bes ftatute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the feventh month.

42 Ye shall dwell in booths feven days; all that are Ifraelites born fhall dwell in booths: 43 That your generations may know that I made the children of Ifrael to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

44 And Mofes declared unto the children of Ifrael the feafts of the LORD.

CHAP. XXIV.

26 And the LORD spake unto Mofes, fay. AND the LORD fpake unto Mofes, fay inst

27 Alfo on the tenth day of this feventh month there fall be a day of atonement: it thall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your fouls, and offer amorfering made by fire unto the LORD.

28 And ye thall do no work in that fame day; for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God.

29 For whatfoever foul it be that fhall not be amicted in that fame day, he shall be cut off from among his people.

30 And whatfoever foul it be that doeth any work in that fame day, the fame foul will I deftroy from among his people.

31 Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a ftatute for ever throughout your generations, in all your dwellings.

32 It all be unto you a fabbath of reft, and ye shall afflict your fouls in the ninth day of the month at even: from even unto even fhall ye celebrate your fabbath.

33 And the LORD fpake unto Mofes, fay. ing,

34 Speak unto the children of Ifrael, faying, The fifteenth day of this feventh month fall be the feaft of tabernacles for feven days unto the LORD.

35 On the first day fall be an holy convocation; ye shall do no fervile work therein. 36 Seven days ye thall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD; on the eighth day thall be an holy convocation unto you, and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD; it is a folemn affembly; and ye thall do no fervile work therein.

37 Thefe are the feasts of the LORD, which ye mall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt-offering, and a meat-offering, a facrifice, and drink-offerings, every thing upon his day;

38 Beide the fabbaths of the LORD, and befide your gifts, and befide all your vows, and bende all your free-will-offerings, which ye give unto the LORD.

39 Alfo in the fifteenth day of the feventh month, when ye have gathered in the frult

Command the children of Ifrael, that they bring unto thee pure oil-olive heaten, for the light, to cause the lamps to burn con tinually.

3 Without the veil of the teftimony, in the tabernacle of the congregation, thall Aaron order it from the evening unto the morning, before the LORD continually: it ball bea ftatute for ever in your generations.

4 He fhall order the lamps upon the pure candlestick before the LORD continually. 5 And thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof; two tenth-deals shall be in one cake.

6 And thou fhalt fet them in two rows,

fix on a row, upon the pure table before the LORD.

And thou shalt put pure frankincenfe upon each row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

8 Every fabbath he fhall fet it in order be fore the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Ifrael by an everlafting cove

nant.

9 And it fhall be Aaron's and bis fons, and they shall eat it in the holy place: for it moit holy unto him, of the offerings of the LORD made by fire, by a perpetual ftatute.

10 And the fon of an Ifraelitish woman, whofe father was an Egyptian, went out among the children of Ifrael, and this of the Ifraelitish woman and a man of Ifrael ftrove together in the camp:

11 And the Ifraelitish woman's fon ba phemed the name of the LORD, and curied. And they brought him unto Mofes; (and his mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan;)

12 And they put him in ward, that the mind of the LORD might be fhewed them.

13 And the LORD fpake unto Moles, fay ing,

14 Bring forth him that hath curfed with out the camp, and let all that heard bilay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation tone him.

15 And thou thalt fpeak unto the children

Chap. xxv. of Ifrael, faying, Whofoever curfeth his God hall bear his fis.

16 And he that blafphemeth the name of the Lord, he shall furely be put to death, and all the congregation hall certainly ftone him as well the stranger as he that is born In the land, when he blafphemeth the name of the LORD, thall be put to death,

17 And he that killeth any man thall Surely be put to death.

18 And he that killeth a beaft shall make it good; beat for beatt.

Ty And if a man caufe a blemish in his neighbour; as he hath done, fo shall it be Cone unto him.

10 Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; as he hath caufed a blemith in a man, fo fhall it be done to him again.

21 And he that killeth a beast, he shall reflore it: and he that killeth a man, he thall be put to death.

22 Ye shall bave one manner of law, as well for the ftranger as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God.

23 And Mofes fpake unto the children of Ifrael, that they thould bring forth him that had curfed out of the camp, and tone him with tones. And the children of Ifrael did as the LORD commanded Mofes.

3 Six years thou halt fow thy field, and fix years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof;

4 But in the feventh year fhall be a fabbath of rest unto the land, a fabbath for the LORD: thou shalt neither fow thy field nor prune thy vineyard.

That which groweth of its own accord of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, neither ga. ther the grapes of thy vine undreffed: for it is a year of reft unto the land.

6And the fabbath of the land fhall be meat for you; for thee, and for thy fervant, and for thy maid, and for thy hired fervant, and for thy ftranger that fojourneth with thee,

1 And for thy cattle, and for the beats that are in thy land, thall all the increase thereof

be meat.

Redemption of land.

12 For it is the jubile, it shall be holy unto you; ye thall eat the increase thereof out of the field.

13 In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his poffeffion.

14 And if thou fell aught unto thy neigh bour, or buyeft aught of thy neighbour's hand, ye shall not oppreis one another.

15 According to the number of years after the jubile thou shalt buy of thy neighbour, and according unto the number of years of the fruits he fhall fell unto thee.

16 According to the multitude of years thou shalt increase the price thereof, and ac cording to the fewness of years thou shalt diminish the price of it: for according to the number of the years of the fruits doth he fell unto thee.

17 Ye shall not therefore opprefs one ano ther; but thou shalt fear thy God; for I am the LORD your God.

184 wherefore ye thall do my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; and ye fhall dwell in the land in fafety.

19 And the land thall yield her fruit, and ye hall eat your fill, and dwell therein in fafety,

20 And if ye thall fay, What fhall we eat the feventh year? behold, we shall not fow, nor gather in our increase;

21 Then I will command my bleffing upon you in the fixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years.

22 And ye hall fow the eighth year, and eat yet of old fruit until the ninth year: un til her fruits come in ye shall eat of the old fore.

23The laud fhall not be fold for ever; for the land is mine: for ye are strangers and fojourners with me.

24 And in all the land of your poffeffion ye fhall grant a redemption for the land.

25 If thy brother be waxen poor, and hath fold away fome of his poffeflion, and if any of his kin come to redeem it, then fhall he redeem that which his brother fold.

26 And if the man have none to redeem it, and himfelf be able to redeem it:

27 Then let him count the years of the fale thereof, and reftore the overplus unto the man to whom he fold it, that he may return unto his poffettion.

28 But if he be not able to restore it to him, then that which is fold fhall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubile: and in the jubile it thall go out, and he shall return unto his poffeffion.

29 And if a man fell a dwelling-houfe in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is fold: within a full year may he redeem it.

30 And if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city thall be established for ever to him that bought it throughout his generati ons: it shall not go out in the jubile.

31 But the houfes of the villages, which have no walls round about them, thall be counted as the fields of the country; they may be redeemed, and they fhall go out in the jubile.

32 Notwithstanding, the cities of the Le vites, and the houfes of the cities of their poffethon, may the Levites redeem at any time. 33 And if a man purchase of the Levites.

Redemption of fervants.

LEVITICUS.

then the house that was fold, and the city of his poffethon, fhall go out in the year of jubile: for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their poffeilion among the children of If rael.

34 But the field of the fuburbs of their cities may not be fold; for it is their perpetual poffettion.

35 And if thy brother be waxen poor, and fallen in decay with thee; then thou shalt relieve him: yea, though he be a ftranger, or a fojourner; that he may live with thee.

36 Take thou no ufury of him, or increase: but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee.

37 Thou shalt not give him thy money upon ufury, nor lend him thy victuals for increase. 381 am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God.

39 And if thy brother that dwelleth by thee be waxen poor, and be fold unto thee; thou shalt not compel him to ferve as a bondServant:

40 But as an hired fervant, and as a fojourner, he thall be with thee, and thall ferve thee unto the year of jubile.

41 And then shall he depart from thee, both he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the poffeffion of his fathers hall he return.

42 For they are my fervants, which I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: they hall not be fold as bond-men.

43 Thou shalt not rule over him with rigour, but thalt fear thy God.

44 Both thy bond-men, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, all be of the heathen that are round about you; of them fhall ye buy bond-men and bond-maids.

45 Moreover of the children of the frangers that do fojourn among you, of them Thall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land; and they shall be your poffettion:

46 And ye ihall take them as an inheritance for your children atter you, to inherit them for a poffeffion; they shall be your bond-nien for ever: but over your brethren, the children of Ifrael, ye thall not rule one over another with rigour.

47 And if a fojourner or a ftranger wax rich by thee, and thy brother that dwelleth by him wax poor, and fell himself unto the Aranger fojourner by thee, or to the flock of the ftranger's family:

48 Atter that he is fold he may be redeemed again; one of his brethren may redeem him:

49 Either his uncle, or his uncle's fon, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto hini of his family may redeem him; or, if he be able, he may redeem himself.

so And he thall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he was fold to him unto the year of jubile: and the price of his fale fhall be according unto the number of years; according to the time of an hired fervant thall it be with him.

51 If there be yet many years behind, ac cording unto them he thall give again the price of his redemption out of the money that he was bought for.

52 And if there remain but few years unto the year of jubile, then he mall count with

CHAP. XXVI.

fhall make you no idols nor graveg image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither fhall ye fet up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.

2 Ye shall keep my fabbaths, and reverence my fanctuary: I am the LORD. 3lf ye walk in my ftatutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;

4 Then I will give you rain in due feafon, and the land fhall yield her increafe, and the trees of the field thall yield their fruit.

S And your threshing fhall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage fall reach unto the fowing-time: and ye hali eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land fafely.

6 And I will give peace in the land, and ye fhall lie down, and none thall make you afraid and I will rid evil beafts out of the land, neither fhall the fword go through your land.

7 And ye shall chafe your enemies, and they fhall fall before you by the sword.

8 And five of you fhall chafe an hundred, and an hundred of you thall put ten thousand to flight: and your eneinics thall fall before you by the fword.

For I will have refpect unto you, s make you fruitful, and multiply you, 20É| eftablish my covenant with you.

10 And ye shall eat old ftore, and bring forth the old because of the new.

And I will fet my tabernacle among you: and my foul thall not abhor you. 12 And 1 will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye thall be my people.

131 am the LORD your God, which brough you forth out of the land of Egypt, that y should not be their bond-men; and I have bre ken the bands of your yoke, and made your upright.

14 But if ye will not hearken unto my and will not do all thefe commandments;

15 And if ye shall defpife my ftatutes, off your foul abhor my judgments, fo that ye wil not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant;

16 I alfo will do this unto you. I will even appoint over you terror, confumption, and the burning ague, that thall confume the eyes, and caufe forrow of heart: and ye fhall fow your feed in vain; for your enemie thall eat it.

17 And I will fet my face against you, an ye thall be flain before your enemies: the that hate you fhall reign over you; and thall flee when none purfueth you.

18 And if ye will not yet for all this he ken unto me, then I will punish you fer times more for your fins.
