11 And I will execute judgments upon Moab; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

12 Thus faith the Lord God; Becaufe that Edom hath dealt againft the house of Judah, by taking vengeance, and hath greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them; 13 Therefore thus faith the Lord Gop; I will also ftretch out mine hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beat from it; and I will make it defolate from Teman, and they of Dedan fhall fall by the fword.

14 And I will lay my vengeance upon Edoni by the hand of my people Ifrael: and they hall do in Edom according to mine an ger and according to my fury; and they shall know my vengeance, taith the Lord GoD.

15 Thus faith the Lord God; Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with a defpiteful heart, to destroy it for the old hatred;"

16 Therefore thus faith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will frezch out mine hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethims, and destroy the remnant of the fea

5 It thall be a place for the spreading of net in the midst of the fea: for I have spoken if faith the Lord Gop: and it thall become fpoil to the nations.

6 And her daughters which are in the field fhall be flain by the fword; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

7 For thus faith the Lord Gop; Behold, I will bring upon Tyrus Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, a king of kings, from the north, with horfes, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and companies, and much people.

8 He fhall flay with the fword thy daugh ters in the field; and he thall make a fort against thee, and caft a mount against thee, and lift up the buckler against thee.

9 And he thall fet engines of war againft thy walls, and with his axes he shall Break down thy towers.

10 By reafon of the abundance of his horfes their duft thall cover thee: thy wails thall thake at the noife of the horsemen, and of the wheels, and of the chariots, when he shall en ter into thy gates, as men enter into a city wherein is made a breach.

11 With the hoofs of his horfes shall he tread down all thy treets: he thall flay thy people by the fword, and thy ftrong garrifons thall go down to the ground.

12 And they fhall make a fpoil of the riches, and make a prey of thy merchandife: and they fhall break down thy walls, and deftroy thy pleafant houses; and they thall lay thy ftones and thy timber and thy duft in the midit of the water.

13 And I will caufe the noife of thy fonts to cease: and the found of thy harps fhall be no more heard.

14 And I will make thee like the top of a rock: thou shalt be a place to spread nets upon; thou shalt be built no more: for I the LORD have fpoken it, faith the Lord Gon.

15 Thus faith the Lord God to Tyrus; shall not the ifles thake at the found of thy fall, when the wounded cry, when the flaugh. ter is ina le in the midst of thee!

16 Then all the princes of the fea fhall come down from their thrones and lay away their robes, and put off their broidered gar. ments: they shall clothe themfelves with trembling; they fhall fit upon the ground, and shall tremble at every moment, and be aftonished at thee.

17 And they thall take up a lamentation for thee, and fay to thee, How art thou de Atroyed that was inhabited of feafaring men, the renowned city which wat ftrong in the fea, the and her inhabitants, which caufe their terror to be on all that haunt it!

The ancients of Gebal, and the wife men thereof were in thee, thy calkers: "all the fhips of the fea with their mariners were in thee to occupy thy merchandise.

10 They of Perfia, and of Lud, and of Phut, were in thine army thy men of war: they hanged the fhield and helmet in thee; they fet forth thy comeliness.

11 The men of Arvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and the Gammadims were in thy towers: they hang ed their fhields upon thy walls round about; they have made thy beauty perfect.

12 Tarthith was thy merchant by reafon of the multitude of all kind of riches; with filver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded in thy

22 The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, they were thy merchants they occupied in thy fairs with chief of all spices, and with all precious ftones, and gold.

23 Haran, and Canneh, and E Jen, the merchants of Sheba, Ashur, and Chilmad, were thy merchants.

25 The hips of Tarfhish did fing of thee in thy market: and thou waft replenished, and made very glorious in the misft of the feas.

26 Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the feas.

27 Thy riches, and thy fairs, thy merchan. dife, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calk. ers, and the occupiers of thy merchandise, and all thy men of war that are in thee, and in all thy company, which is in the midft of thee, fhall fall into the midft of the feas in the day of thy ruin.

CHAP. XXVIII. 1 God's judgment upon the prince of Tyrus. 20 The judgment of Zidon. THE word of the LORD came again unto

the feas yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou fet thine heart as the heart of GOD:

3 Behold, thou art wifer than Daniel; there is no fecret that they can hide from thee: 4 With thy wisdom and with thine underftanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hatt gotten gold and filver into thy treafures: 5 By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick haft thou increafed thy riches, and thine heart Islitted up becaufe of thy riches:

6 Therefore thus faith the Lord Gon; Becaufe thou haft fet thine heart as the heart of GOD;

7 Behold, therefore I will bring ftrangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations and they thall draw their fwords against the beauty of thy wifdom, and they hall defile thy brightnefs.

8 They fhall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are lain in the midft of the feas.

9 Wilt thou yet fay before him that flayeth thee, I am God; but thou fbalt be a man, and no god, in the hand of him that dayeth thee.

10 Thou halt die the deaths of the uncir. cumcifed by the hand of ftrangers: for I have fpoken it, faith the Lord Gop.

Moreover, the word of the LORD came unto me, faying,

12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and fay unto him, Thus faith the Lord GOD; Thou fealeft up the fum ; full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

13 Thou haft been in Eden the garden of God; every precious ftone was thy covering, the fardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jafper, the fapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou waft created.

14 Thou art the anoiated cherub that covereth; and I have fet thee fo: thou wait upon the holy mountain of God; thou haft walked up and down in the midst of the ftones of fire.

15 Thou waft perfect in thy ways from the day that thou waft created, till iniquity was found in thee.

16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou haft finned: therefore I will eaft thee as protane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou haft corrupted thy wifdom by reafon of thy brightnefs: I will caft thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

18 Thou haft defiled thy fanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midft of thee, it thall devour thee; and I will bring thee to athes upon the earth in the fight of all them that behold thee.

19 All they that know thee among the peo. ple fall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never balt thou be any more.

20 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, faying,

21 Son of man, fet thy face against Zidon, and prophesy against it,

and of Zidan, Ge. 22 And fay, Thus faith the Lord Gon; Be hold, I am against thee, O Zidon: and I will be glorified in the midft of thee: and they fhall know that I am the LORD, when I fhall have executed judgments in her, and thall be fanctified in her.

23 For I will fend into her peftilence, and blood into her treets; and the wounded fhall be judged in the midt of her by the fword upon her on every fide; and they thall know that I am the LORD.

24 And there fhall be no more a pricking brier unto the houfe of Ifrael, nor any griev ing thorn of all that are round about them that defpifed them; and they thall know that I am the Lord God.

25 Thus faith the Lord Gop: When 1 fhall have gathered the house of Ifrael from the people among whom they are fcattered, and shall be fanctified in them in the fight of the heathen, then thall they dwell in their land that I have given to my fervant Jacob.

26 And they shall dwell fafely therein, and fhall build houfes, and plant vineyards; yea, they fhall dwell with confidence, when i have executed judgments upon all thofe that defpife them round about them; and they thall know that I am the LORD their God. CHAP. XXIX.

The judgment of Pharaoh, &c. the tenth year, in the tenth month of the twelfth day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, faying,

2 Son of man, fet thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophefy against him and against all Egypt.

3 Speak, and fay, Thus faith the Lord GOD, Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of E gypt, the great dragon that lieth in the mida of his rivers, which hath faid, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself.

4 But I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will caufe the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy fcales; and 1 will bring thee up cut of the midst of thy rivers, and all the fith of thy rivers fhall ftick unto thy fcales.

5 And I will leave thee thrown into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy ri vers: thou shalt fall upon the open fields; thou shalt not be brought together, nor ga thered: I have given thee tor meat to the beats of the field, and to the fowls of the heaven.

6 And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the LORD, becaufe they have

been a staff of reed to the houfe of Ifrael.

7 When they took hold of thee by thy hand, thou didst break, and rend all their thoulder: and when they leaned upon thee thou brakeft, and madeft all their loins to be at a ftand.

8 Therefore thus faith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will bring a fword upon thee, and cut off man and beat out of thee.

And the land of Egypt thall be defolate and waste; and they fhall know that I am the LORD: because he hath faid, The river it mine, and I have made it.

10 Behold, therefore, I am against thee, and against thy rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt utterly wafte and defolate, from the tower of Syene even unto the border of Ethiopia.

11 No foot of man shall pass through it,

and her belters. Syene fhall they fall in it by the sword, salth the Lord God.

Chap. xxx. inor foot of beaft shall pafs through it, nei. ther fhall it be inhabited forty years.

12 And I will make the land of Egypt defolate in the midst of the countries that are defolate, and her cities among the cities that are laid waste thall be defolate forty years: and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will difperfe them through the

countries.

13 Yet thus faith the Lord God; At the end of forty years will I gather the Egyptians from the people whither they were fcattered:

14 And I will bring again the captivity of Egypt, and will caule them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their habitation; and they fhall be there a bafe kingdom.

15 It thall be the bafeft of the kingdoms; neither thall it exalt itself any more above the nations: for I will diminish them, that they shall no more rule over the nations.

16 And it shall be no more the confidence of the houfe of Ifrael, which bringeth their iniquity to remembrance when they shall look after them but they fhall know that 1 am the Lord God.

17 And it came to pafs in the feven and twentieth year, in the first month, in the firft day of the month, the word of the Loxp came unto me, faying,

18 Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon caused his army to ferve a great fervice againft Tytus; every head was made bald, and every thoulder was peeled; yet had he no wages, nor his army for Tyrus, for the fervice that he had ferved against it: 19 Therefore thus faith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will give the land of Egypt unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he thall take her multitude, and take her fpoil, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages tor his army.

20 I have given him the land of Egypt for his labour wherewith he ferved againft it, because they wrought for me, faith the Lord Gop.

21 In that day will I caufe the horn of the house of Ifrael to bud forth, and I will give thee the opening of the mouth in the midit of them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

The defolation of Egypt, and her helpers, 20 The arm of Babylon shall be ftrengthened to break the arm of Egypt.

THE

HE word of the LORD came again unto me, faying,

2 Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus faith the Lord Gon; Howl ye, Woe worth the day! 3 For the day is near, even the day of the LORD is near, a cloudy day; it shall be the time of the heathen.

4 And the fword fhall come upon Egypt, and great pain fhall be in Ethiopia, when the Dlain hall fall in Egypt, and they fhall take away her multitude, and her foundations fhall be broken down,

5 Ethiopia, and Libya, and Lydia, and all the mingled people, and Chub, and the men of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the fword.

6 Thus faith the LORD; They alfo that uphold Egypt hall fall; and the pride of her power shall come down; from the tower of

7 And they shall be defolate in the midft of the countries that are defolate, and her cities fhall be in the midst of the cities that are wafted.

8 And they fhall know that I am the Lp, when I have fet a tre in Egypt, and when all her helpers shall be destroyed.

9 In that day fhall meffengers go forth from me in thips to make the careless Ethiopians afraid, and great pain shall come upon them, as in the day of Egypt: for, lo, it cometh.

b Thus faith the Lord GOD; I will also make the multitude of Egypt to ceafe by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon.

11 He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, fhall be brought to destroy the land; and they fhall draw their fwords againa Egypt, and fill the land with the flain.

12 And I will make the rivers dry, and fell the land into the hand of the wicked and I will make the land waste, and all that is therein, by the hand of ftrangers: I the LORD have fpoken it.

13 Thus faith the Lord GOD; I will alfo defroy the idols, and I will caufe their images to cease out of Noph; and there thall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.

14 And I will make Pathros defolate, and will fet fire in Zear, and will execute judg ments in No.

15 And I will pour my fury upon Sin, the ftrength of Egypt; and I will cut off the multitude of No.

16 And I will fet fire in Egypt: Sin fhall have great pain, and No shall be rent afunder, and Noph ball have diftrefies daily.

17 The young men of Aven and of Phibe. feth fhall fall by the fword: and thefe cities hall go into captivity.

18 At Tehaphnehes alfo the day shall be darkened, when I fhall break there the yokes of Egypt: and the pomp of her ftrength' fhall ceafe in her as for her, a cloud fhall cover her, and her daughters thall go into captivity.

19 Thus will I execute judgments in Egypt: and they shall know that I am the LORD.

20 And it came to pafs in the eleventh year, in the first month, in the feventh day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, faying,

21 Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and, lo, it shall not be bound up to be healed, to put a roller to bind it, to make it ftrong to hold the fword.

22 Therefore thus faith the Lord Gon; Be hold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the frong, and that which was broken; and I will caufe the fword to fall out of his hand.

23 And I will fcatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will difperfe them through the countries.

24 And I will ftrengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my fword in his hand: but I will break Pharaoh's arms, and he thall groan before him with the groanings of a deadly wounded man.

25 But I will ftrengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh fhall fall down; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall put my fword into

2 Son of man, fpeak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude; Whom art thou like thy greatness?

3 Behold, the Affyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a fhadowing throud, and of an high ftature; and his top was among the thick boughs.

4 The waters made him great, the deep fet him up on high with her rivers running round about his plants, and fent out her little rivers unto all the trees of the field.

5 Therefore his height was exalted above all the trees of the field, and his boughs were multiplied, and his branches became long becaufe of the multitude of waters when he fhot forth.

6 All the fowls of heaven made their nefts in his boughs, and under his branches did all the bearts of the field bring forth their young, and under his fhadow dwelt all great

nations.

7 Thus was he fair in his greatnefs, in the length of his branches: for his root was by great waters.

12 And ftrangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the rivers of the land; and all the people of the earth are gone down from his fhadow, and have left him.

This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, faith the Lord Gon.
