Alamentation for the

defruction of Egypt thall lie with the uncircumcised, and with them that go down to the pit.

Chap. xxxiil. 13 I will deftroy alfo all the beafts thereof from beide the great waters; neither shall the foot of man trouble them any more, nor the hoofs of beafts trouble them.

14 Then will I make their waters deep, and cause their rivers to run like oil, faith the Lord God.

15 When I thall make the land of Egypt defolate, and the country thall be deftitute of that whereof it was full, when I shall fmite all them that dwell therein, then thall they know that I am the LORD.

16 This is the lamentation wherewith they fhall lament her; the daughters of the nations thall lament her: they shall lament for her, even for Egypt, and for all her multitude, faith the Lord Gov.

17 It came to pafs alfo in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, faying,

18 Son of man, wail for the multitude of Egypt, and caft them down, even her, and the daughters of the famous nations, unto

the nether parts of the earth, with them that

go down into the pit

19 Whom doit thou pafs in beauty? Go down, and be thou laid with the uncircumcifed.

20 They fhall fall in the midft of them that are flain by the fword: the is delivered to the fword: draw her and all her multitudes.

21 The strong among the mighty fhall fpeak to him out of the midft or hell with them that help him they are gone down, they lie un circumcifed, flain by the fword.

22 Asthur is there and all her company: his graves are about him: all of them flain, fallen by the [word:

23 Whofe graves are fet in the fides of the pit and her company is round about her grave: all of them flain, fallen by the fword, which caused terror in the land of the living.

24 There is Elam and all her multitude, round about her grave, all of them flain, fallen by the fword, which are gone down uncircumcifed into the nether parts of the earth, which caufed their terror in the land of the living; yet have they borne their fhame with them that go down to the pit.

25 They have fet her a bed in the midft of the flain with all her multitude: her graves are round about him: all of them uncircumcifed, flain by the fword, though their terror was caufed in the land of the living, yet have they borne their thame with them that go down to the pit: he is put in the midst of them that be lain.

26 There is Methech, Tubal, and all her multitude: her graves are round about him: all of them uncircumcifed, flain by the fword, though they caufed their terror in the land of the living.

27 And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcifed, which are gone down to hell with their weapons of war and they have laid their fwords under their heads, but their iniquities shall be upon their bones, though they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.

28 Yea, thou shalt be broken in the midft of the uncircumcifed, and fhalt lie with them that are flain with the fword.

29 There is Edom, her kings, and all her princes, which with their might are laid by them that were flain by the fword: they

30 There be the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Zidonians, which are gone down with the flain; with their terror they are athamed of their might; and they lie uncircumcifed with them that be slain by the fword, and bear their thame with them that go down to the pit.

31 Pharaoh thall fee them, and shall be comforted over all his multitude, even Pha. raoh and all his army lain by the fword, faith the Lord GOD.

32 For I have caufed my terror in the land of the living: and he thall be laid in the midst of the uncircumcifed with them that are tlain with the fword, even Pharaoh and all his multitude, faith the Lord God. CHA P. XXXIII. 1 By the duty of a watchman, Ezekiel is admonifbed of bis duty. 10 God fheweth the juftice of his ways.

AGAIN the word of the LORD came unto me, faying,

2 Son of man, fi eak to the children of thy people, and fay unto them, When I bring the fword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coafts, and fet him for their watchman:

3 If when he feeth the fword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

4 Then whofoever heareth the found of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the fword come, and take him away, his blood fhall be upon his own head.

5 He heard the found of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him: But he that taketh warning shall deli. ver his foul.

But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the fword come, and take any perfon from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I re. quire at the watchman's hand.

So thou, O fon of man, I have fet thee a watchman unto the house of Ifrael; there fore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou thalt furely die; if thou doft not fpeak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man thall die in his ini quity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou haft delivered thy foul.

10 Therefore, O thou fon of man, fpeak unto the house of Ifrael; Thus ye fpeak, faying, If our tranfgreffions and our fins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how fhould we then live?

11 Say unto them, As I live, faith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Krael?

12 Therefore, thou fon of man, lay unto the children of thy people, The righteoufnefs of the righteous fhall not deliver him in the day of his transgretsion: as for the

wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickednefs; neither thall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he finneth.

13 When I shall fay to the righteous, that he hail furely live, if he truft to his own righteoufnefs, and commit iniquity, all his righteoufneffes fhall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he thall die for it.

14 Again, when I fay unto the wicked, Thou halt furely die; if he turn from his fin, and do that which is lawful and right;

15 If the wicked restore the pleage, give again that he had robbed, walk in the ftatutes of life, without committing iniquity; he thall furely live, he thall not die.

16 None of his fins that he hath committed thall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he fhall furely live.

17 Yet the chidren of thy people fay,

The way of the LORD is not equal: but, as for them, their way is not equal.

18 When the righteous turneth from his rightconfnefs, and committeth iniquity, he fhall even die thereby.

19 But if the wicked turn from his wickednefs, and do that which is lawful and right, he thall live thereby.

20 Yet ye fay, The way of the LORD is not equal. O ye houfe of Ifrael, 1 will judge you every one after his ways.

21 And it came to pafs in the twelfth Year of our captivity, in the tenth month, the fifth day of the month, that or that had escaped out of Jerufalem came unto me, faying, The city is fmitten.

22 Now the hand of the LORD was upon me in the evening, afore he that was escaped came; and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb.

23 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, faying,

24 Son of man, they that inhabit thofe waftes of the land of Ifrael fpeak, faying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the Land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.

25 Wherefore fay unto them, Thus faith the Lord Gon; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and thed blood: and fhall ye pofefs the land?

26 Ye ftand upon your fword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour's wife: and thall ye poffefs the land?

27 Say thou thus unto them, Thes faith the Lord GOD; As I live, furely they that are in the waftes fhall fall by the fword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beafts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves fhall die of the peftilence.

28 For I will lay the land moft defolate, and the pomp of her ftrength fhall ceafe: and the mountains of Ifrael fhall be defolate, that none thall pass through.

29 Then thall they know that I am the LORD, when I have laid the land moft defolate, becaufe of all their abominations which they have committed.

13 And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Ifrael by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country.

14 I will feed them in a good pafture, and upon the high mountains of Ifrael thall their fold be: there fhall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pafture shall they feed upon the mountains of Ifrael.

16 I will feek that which was loft, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was fick: but I will deftroy the fat and the ftrong; I will feed them with judgment.

17 And as for you, O my flock, thus faith the Lord God; Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the hegoats.

18 Seemeth it a small thing unto you to have eaten up the good pafture, but ye muft tread down with your feet the refidue of your paftures and to have drunk of the deep waters, but ye muit foul the refidue with your feet?

19 And as for my flock, they eat that which ye have trodden with your feet; and they drink that which ye have fouled with your

feet.

22 Therefore will I fave my flock, and they thall no more be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle.

23 And I will fet up one thepherd over them, and he thall feed them, even my fervant David; he shall feed them, and he thall be their fhpeherd.

24 And I the LORD will be their God, and my fervant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it.

25 And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will caufe the evil beafts to ceafe out of the land: and they thall dwell fafely in the wilderness, and fleep in the woods.

26 And I will make them and the places round about my hill a bleifing; and I will caufe the shower to come down in his feafon; there fhall he thowers of bleifing.

27 And the tree of the field thall yield her fruit, and the earth fhall yield her increafe, and they shall be fafe in their land, and fhali know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and deliveren them out of the hand of thofe that ferved themselves of them.

28 And they fhall no more be a prey to the

7 Thus will I make mount Sier moft defolate, and cut off from it him that paffeth out and him that returneth.

8 And I will fill his mountains with his flain men: in thy hills, and in thy vallies, and in all thy rivers, thall they fall that are flain with the fword.

9 I will make thee perpetual defolations, and thy cities shall not return and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

10 Because thou haft faid, These two nations and these two countries thall be mine, and we will poffefs it; whereas the LORD was there:

12 And thou shalt know that I am the LORD, and that I have heard all thy blafphemies which thou haft fpoken against the mountains of Ifrael, saying, They are laid defolate, they are given us to confume.

1 By the refurrection of dry bones, 11 the dead hope of Ifrael is revived.

T

HE hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the fpirit of the LORD, and fet me down in the midt of the valley which was full of bones,

2 And caufed me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open vailey; and, lo, they were very dry. 3 And he faid unto me, Son of man, can thefe bones live? And I answered, O Lord Gon, thou knoweft.

4 Again he faid unto me, Prophefy, upon thefe bones, and fay unto them, Oye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.

5 Thus faith the Lord GOD unto thefe bones; Behold, I will caufe breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

6 And I will lay tinews upon you, and will bring up neth upon you, and cover you with fkin, and put breath in you, and ye thall live; and ye thall know that I am the LORD. 7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophefied, there was a noife, and behold a shaking, and the bones came toge ther, bone to his bone.

8 And when I beheld, lo, the finews and the fleth came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.

20 And the ticks whereon thou writeht thall be in thine hand before their eyes.

21 And fay unto them, Thus faith the Lord Gop; Behold, I will take the children of If. rael from ancag the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather theri on every fidé, and bring them into their own land:

22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Ifrael; and one king fhall be king to them all; and they thall be no more two nations, neither fhall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:
