2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will blefs thee, and make thy name great; and thou thalt be a blefling:

And I will blefs them that bless thee, and curfc him that curfeth thee; and in thee fhall all families of the earth be bleffed.

4 So Abrain departed, as the LORD had Spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was feventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.

s And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's fon, and all their fubftance that they had gathered, and the fouls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.

6 And Abram paffed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.

7 And the LORD appeared unto Abram, na faid, Unto thy feed will I give this land: and there bullied he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.

8 And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the cart of Beth-cl, and pitched his tent, having Beth-cl on the west, and Hai on the eart; and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of

the LORD.

9 And Abram journeyed, going on still to ward the fouth.

ro And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to fɔ journ there; for the famine was grievous in the land.

And it came to pafs, when he was come ncar to enter into Egypt, that he faid unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon :

12 Therefore it thall come to pafs, when the Egyptians fhall fee thee, that they thall fay, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will fave thee alive.

13 Say, I pray thee, thou art my fifter; that it may be well with me for thy fake: and my foul fhall live because of thee.

14 And it came to pafs, that when Abrani was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman, that he was very fair.

16 And he entreated Abram well for her fake and he had theep, and oxen, and be. ailes, and men-fervants, and maid fervants, and the-affes, and camels.

17 And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues, because of Sarai, Abram's wife.

18 And Pharaoh called Abram, and faid, What is this that thou haft done unto me? why didit thou not tell me that he was thy wife?

19 Why faidft thou, She is my fitter? fo I might have taken her to me to wife: now, therefore, behold thy wife, take her, and go thy way.

4 Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the firft: and there Abram called on the name of the LORD.

5 And Lot alfo, which went with Abram, had Hocks, and herds, and tents.

6 And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their fubftance was great, fo that they could not dwell together.

7 And there was a ftrife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle. And the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelt then in the land.

8 And Abram faid unto Lot, Let there be no ftrite, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen: 1or we be brethren.

9 Is not the whole land before thee? Sep. arate thyfelf, I pray thee, from me; if thou quilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.

10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well wa. tered every where, before the LORD deftroy. ed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comeft unto Zoar.

11 Then Lot chofe him all the plain of Jor. dan; and Lot journeyed east and they fepa rated themselves the one from the other.

12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.

13 But the men of Sodom were wicked, and finners before the LORD exceedingly.

14 And the LORD faid unto Abram, after that Lot was feparated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art, northward, and fouthward, and eastward, and weftward:

15 For all the land which thou feeft, to thee will give it, and to thy feed for ever.

16 And I will make thy feed as the duft of the earth; fo that if a man can number the duit of the earth, then shall thy feed alfo be numbered.

17 Arife, walk through the land, in the length of it, and in the breadth of it: for I will give it unto thee.

18 Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD.
