To cast down the afflicted and needy

one,

And to slay the upright in the way: Their sword shall enter into their own heart,

And their bows shall be broken.

Better is the little of the righteous

one,

Than the riches of many wicked ;* For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,

But Jehovah upholdeth the righteous. Jehovah knoweth the days of the perfect,

And their inheritance shall be for

ever.

They shall not be ashamed in the time of evil,

And in the days of famine they shall

be satisfied.

But the wicked shall perish,

And the enemies of Jehovah shall be

as the fat of lambs;

They shall be consumed, yea, into smoke shall they be consumed.

For those that are blessed of him

shall possess the land,

By Jehovah are the steps of a man established,

hand.

I have been young, and now am old,
Yet have I not seen the righteous

Nor his seed seeking bread.

All the day, is he gracious and ready

The law of his God is in his heart;

Yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.

Mark the perfect one, and see the upright one;

For the latter end of that man is peace :*

But transgressors shall be destroyed together,

The latter end of the wicked shall

be cut off.

The salvation of the righteous is

from Jehovah,

He is their strength in the time of trouble.

Yea, Jehovah will help them and de

liver them;

He will deliver them from the

wicked,

And save them, because they take refuge in him.

A Psalm by David. To bring to remembrance.

O JEHOVAH, rebuke me not in thine

anger,

Neither chasten me in thy wrath;"

2 For thine arrows have entered into me,

And thy hand hath come down upon me. 3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine indignation,

Neither is there any peace in my bones because of my sin;

4 For mine iniquities have passed over my head,

As a heavy burden they are too heavy for

me.

5 My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.

troubled;

down;

am utterly bowed

I go mourning all the day;

7 For my loins are filled with a burning heat,

And there is no soundness in my flesh.
