:

Let my cry come near before thee, O Jehovah give me understanding according to thy word. Let my supplication come before thee: deliver me according to thy word.

My lips shall pour forth praise, when thou shalt teach me thy

statutes.

My tongue shall declare thy word; for all thy commandments are righteous.

Let thy hand help me; for I have
chosen thy precepts.

I long for thy salvation, O Jehovah ;
and thy law is my delight.
Let my soul live, and praise thee:
and let thy judgments* help me.

I go astray like a lost sheep; seek
thy servant; for I do not for-
get thy commandments.

PSALM CXX.

A Restoration-song.

IN my trouble I called upon Jehovah, and

he answered me,—

2 "Deliver my soul, O Jehovah, from false lips, and from a deceitful tongue."

T

3 What shall be given unto thee, or what shall be added unto thee, thou deceitful

tongue ?

4 Sharp arrows from the Mighty one, with burning coals of juniper.

5 Woe is me, that I sojourn in Meshech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!

6 My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth

peace.

7 I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war.

PSALM CXXI.

A Restoration-song.

1 I WILL lift up mine eyes unto the mountains. Whence shall my help come?

b

2 My help cometh from Jehovah, that made heaven and earth.

3

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. 4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 Jehovah is thy keeper: Jehovah is thy shade upon thy right hand.

a Ps. xlv. 3–5.

b Jer. iii. 23.

c Ps. xi. 1.

6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the

moon by night.

7 Jehovah will keep thee from all evil; he will keep thy soul.

8 Jehovah will keep thy going out and thy coming in, from henceforth and for ever.

PSALM CXXII.

A Restoration-song by David.

1 I WAS glad when they said unto me, "Let us go into the house of Jehovah." 2 Our feet have stood within thy gates, O Jerusalem,

3 Jerusalem builded as a city that is compact

together;

4 Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of Jah, According to the testimony to Israel, to give thanks unto the name of Jehovah ;

5 For there are set thrones for judgment,

6

The thrones of the house of David.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Those shall prosper that love thee.

Peace be within thy bulwarks, prosperity within thy fortresses.

8 For the sake of my brethren and my companions, I will say, "Peace be within

thee."

9 For the sake of the house of Jehovah our God, I will seek thy good.

PSALM CXXIII.

A Restoration-song.

1 UNTO thee lifted I up mine eyes, O thou that sittest in the heavens.

2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters,

3

1

And as the eyes of a maid unto the hand of
her mistress,

So our eyes looked unto Jehovah our God,
until he should be gracious unto us,-
"Be gracious unto us, O Jehovah: be gra-
cious unto us; for we are exceedingly

filled with contempt.

"Our soul is exceedingly filled

"With the scorn of those that are at ease, and

with the contempt of the proud."

PSALM CXXIV.

A Restoration-song by David.

"IF it had not been Jehovah who was on

our side," may Israel say;

2 "If it had not been Jehovah who was on our

side, when men rose up against us;

3 Then had they swallowed us up alive, when their anger was kindled against us; "Then had the waters overflowed us; the

stream had passed over our soul;

"Then had the proud waters passed over our soul."

Blessed be Jehovah, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

7 Our soul hath escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers:

The snare is broken, and we have escaped. 8 Our help is in the name of Jehovah, that made heaven and earth.

PSALM CXXV.

A Restoration-song.

1 THOSE that trust in Jehovah are as mount Zion,

Which cannot be moved, but standeth fast for

ever.

2 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem,

So is Jehovah round about his people from henceforth and for ever.
