14 15 Righteousness and judgment are the foundation of thy throne;a Loving-kindness and truth go before thy face. A Prayer by Moses, the man of God. 1 O MY Lord, thou hast been our habitation Throughout all generations. 2 Before the mountains were brought forth, Yea, before the earth and the world were formed, And for ever and ever, thou art God. 3 Thou causest man to return to dust, And sayest, "Return, ye children of men,' 5 Thou sweepest them away: they are like a sleep. They are like grass which groweth up in the morning; 6 In the morning it flourisheth and groweth up, In the evening it droopeth and withereth. 7 For we are consumed by thine anger, And by thy wrath are we terrified. 8 Thou settest our iniquities before thee, Our hidden sins in the light of thy counte nance. 9 For all our days pass away in thy fury: We spend our years as a tale that is told. 10 As for the days of our years, they are threescore years and ten; And if, by reason of might, they be fourscore years, Yet is their strength toil and sorrow; For it quickly passeth, and we fly away. 11 Who knoweth the strength of thine anger, Or, according to the fear due to thee, thy fury? 12 So teach us to number our days, 13 That we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
