PSALM LXVII.

For the chief Musician. With stringed instruments. A Psalm. A Song.

1

GOD be gracious unto us, and bless us,

And cause his countenance to shine upon

us.

Selah.

2 That thy way may be known upon the earth, Thy salvation among all nations.

The peoples shall give thee thanks, O God; The peoples shall give thee thanks, all of them. 4 The nations shall be glad and shout for joy; For thou wilt judge the peoples with upright

ness,

And as to the nations upon the earth, thou wilt guide them.

Selah.

The peoples shall give thee thanks, O God; The peoples shall give thee thanks, all of them.

6 Then shall the earth yield her increase, And God, even our God, shall bless us.

7 God shall bless us,

And all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

PSALM LXVIII.

For the chief Musician. A Psalm by David. A Song.

2

LET God rise up, let his enemies be scattered,

Let those also that hate him flee before him.

As smoke is driven away, so drive thou them

away;

As wax melteth before the fire,

So let the wicked perish before God;

3 But let the righteous be glad ; let them rejoice before God;

Yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.

4 Sing ye unto God, sing praises to his name: Prepare the way for him that rideth through

the deserts,

b

Whose name is Jah; and rejoice before him. 5 A father of the fatherless, and a defender of widows,

Is God in his holy habitation.

6 God setteth the solitary in families :

He bringeth forth those that are bound into prosperity;

But the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

O God, when thou wentest out before thy people,

When thou didst march through the de

Before God,-even that Sinai,

Before God, the God of Israel."

9 Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain; And when thine inheritance was weary, thou didst refresh it.

10 Thy congregation dwelt therein:

11

Thou, O God, didst provide, in thy goodness," for the afflicted one.

My Lord gave the word:

Great was the host of women publishing the victory."

12 Kings of hosts filed apace;

And she that tarried at home divided the spoil. 13 Though ye had lain among the sheep-folds, Yet were ye as the wings of a dove covered with silver,

And her feathers with yellow gold.d

15 The mountain of Bashan is a mountain of

God,

The mountain of Bashan is a mountain of

summits.

16 Why are ye envious, ye mountain summits? This is the mountain which God desireth to

dwell in ; d

Yea, Jehovah will dwell in it for ever.*

17 The chariots of God are tens of thousands, thousands repeated:

18

My Lord is among them, as upon Sinai,' in the holy place.

Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast taken

a multitude of captives,

Thou hast obtained gifts for men,”

Yea, even for rebellious men, that God Jah might dwell among them.

20 Our God is the God of salvation;

21 But God shall smite the head of his enemies,

And the hairy crown of him that walketh on in his trespasses.

They have seen thy goings, O God,

Even the goings of my God, my King, in the holy place.

25 The singers went before, the players on stringed instruments followed after;

In the midst were the damsels playing with timbrels.
