PROSPECTUS

OF A NEW EDITION OF

THE HYMNS OF THE RIG-VEDA

IN

THE SANHITA AND PADA TEXTS.

Messrs. TRÜBNER & CO., 8, and 60, Paternoster Row, London, propose to publish a New Edition of the SANHITÂ and PADA TEXTS of the RIG-VEDA, in juxtaposition, without the Commentary of Sâyaṇa.

This New Edition will be comprised in about sixteen hundred pages, large 8vo.

There will also be separate editions of each of the two Texts of 800 pages each, which will be sold separately.

The Texts will be the same as those edited by Professor Max Müller, carefully corrected and revised.

The names of the Authors, Deities, and Metres will be given at the beginning of each Hymn.

The Types used will be the large Oxford Types: the same which are used in Professor Max Müller's original edition with Sâyana's Commentary. A new fount of these types has been provided.

Nearly two-thirds of the work being already in type, it is confidently hoped that the publication will take place early in 1873.

The price to Subscribers for the complete work will be 488. per copy, or for each of the Texts separately, 24s. per copy. In no case can any deduction be made to Agents or Booksellers from this price. Where Subscribers are not in direct communication with the Publishers, it is particularly requested that this may be noted. After publication, the price of the complete work will be 728. per copy, and 36s. for each of the separate Texts per copy, and the regular trade allowance will be made to Agents or Booksellers on this price.

A SPECIMEN PAGE, exhibiting the page and size of the work, is subjoined.
Intending Subscribers are requested to communicate with the Publishers,

MESSRS. TRÜBNER & CO.,

8 AND 60, PATERNOSTER Row,
