This is a qualification of the greatest consequence; without it, the Sabbath-school teacher has no right to expect success; whilst with it, the hope may be indulged that great success will be granted. Sunday-school teachers should be eminent for prayer; it should be seen in their faces, heard in their voices, and distinguished in all their conduct; it should give colour to what they do in the school, and impress it with the stamp of seriousness and of eternity. The atmosphere of the Sunday-school should be altogether prayerful, and the neighbourhood of all its proceedings the cross of Christ. POETRY. TO A FRIEND.
