Ah, glory, honor, ever give to Him,

Who sits upon the throne! Amen! Amen!

HYMN.

RISE, my soul, salute the morn, When Messiah left the tomb!

Wake the living God to praise,

To His name sweet anthems raise.
He, in splendid glory rose,
Victor over all His foes;
Sin subdu'd, defi'd the grave,

Rose from death mankind to save.

Raise your heads, celestial gates!
Loose your bars! the Saviour waits
Entrance to His glorious throne,
With His bright attending train.
Doors eternal, ope your leaves!
Wide extend you shining valves!
See the King of Glory comes,
And admittance through you claims.

King of Glory! Who is He! Waiting cherubs answ'ring say, "He's the Lord in battle strong, "Victor over death and sin;

"Who, in exaltation reigns,

"Lord of lords, and King of kings;
"Whose dominion stands secure,

"When the earth is known no more."

Hear! how sweet celestial choirs
Sound their trumpets, strike their lyres!
Mortals! join the rapt'rous song;
Welcome give the Saviour home.
Raise the strain triumphant high;
Sing, O heavens! let earth reply,
Glory to Jehovah's name!

Praise! O praise, His love divine!

THE MUSE.

THE rays of the morning effulgence display'd, The notes of the sweet feather'd warblers invade, The woodbines, and ether reechoes the lays, Their Maker ordain'd should resound to His praise.

Omnipotence flying on wings of the winds From heaven to earth rob'd in glory descends; He bids His belov'd from the grave to arise, And man's Great Redeemer the summons obeys.

Were scatter'd, as dead, on the green turfy bier
The vet'rans ne'er daunted by raging of war;
The stone which secured the tomb of the blest,
Was mov'd from its place and laid useless at rest.

And rob'd as the snow, as the sunbeam his face, His countenance glowing with beauty and grace; With voice as the tone of seraphic sweet strains, An angel the wonder transacted proclaims.

"Why search for the living 'midst tombs of the dead?

"The Saviour is risen as He Himself said;

"He's broken death's fetters, His thraldom is o'er, "Messiah is living to never die more."

Thus rose from the dead the Great Ancient of days, The Star of the east in its brightest of rays, Transcendent its place in the skies to resume, Salvation attending the ascent sublime.

He sprang

from the earth His great Father to meet, As the full-blooming rose with rich verdure replete ; A conqueror He, from the victory won,

Return'd, crown'd with honor to His native home.

The seraphic trumpets gave joyful salute,
The harmonic concord reecho'd the note;

And joyfully welcom'd the Saviour's return
From fully completing redemption of man.

Let mortal hearts glowing with seraphic fire, In chorus divine, join the cherubic choir; Messiah's just praises repeat, and again Raise grand Hallelujahs to finish the song.

Hallelujah Hallelujah!
