suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Cor. x. 13. That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us. Heb. vi. 18. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed. 2 Cor. iv. 8, 9. Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about. Psal. xxxii. 10. Thou calledst upon me in troubles, and I delivered thee. Psal. lxxxi. 7.

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourthee in holi- selves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? but now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies, might serve him in holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. Luke i. 74, 75. Every man that hath this hope in him, purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 1 John iii. 3. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Matt. v. 8.
