1. From everlasting to everlasting, thou art lasting God, God. Ps. xc. 2. The Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God. Gen. xvii. 1. Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things. Ps. lxxii. 18. O give thanks to the Lord of lords, to him who alone doeth great wonders; for endureth for ever. Ps. cxxxvi. 3, 4. unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? Ex. xv. 11. When the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting: and there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance and there were dwelling at Jerusalem, Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven: now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language: and they were all amazed, and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galileans? we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. The eyes of your understanding being enlightened, that ye may know what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power. Ep.i. 18, 19.

We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 2 Co. iv. 7. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word. John xvii. 20. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the Church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring. Is. xliv. 3. To you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings. Mal. iv. 2. The grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men. Tit. ii. 11. Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. Tit. iii. 5. The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree; he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon: those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God; they shall be fat and flourishing. We beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. 1 Th. iv. 1. For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God. Col. i. 9, 10.

As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion; for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. Ps. cxxxiii. 3. I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing, and I will cause the shower to come down in his season, there shall be showers of blessing. Ez. xxxiv. 26. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. Ep. i. 3.—See also, Is. xliv. 3.

XIII. A Prayer of St. Chrysostom.

1. I am Alpha and Omega, saith the Lord, the Almighty. Re. i. 8. And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Is. ix. 6. Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O Most Mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty. Ps. xlv. 3. Of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Ro. ix. 5.

5. Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness. Mat. vi. 33. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 1 Ti. ii. 3, 4. The earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. Ha. ii. 14. And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ; This is the true God, and eternal life. 1 John v. 20.--See also, John xvii. 3.

Now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life: for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through - Jesus Christ our Lord. Ro. vi. 22, 23. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Mat. xiii. 43. Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: To him be glory both now and for ever. 2 Pe. iii. 18.
