The prince's portion of the land. oblation of the holy portion, and before the poffeffion of the city from the weft fide weftward, and from the eaft fide eaft- 21 In the first month, in the fourteenth ward: and the length shall be over against day of the month, ye fhall have the one of the portions, from the west border | paffover, a feast of seven days; unlea- . unto the east border. vened bread fhall be eaten. 8 In the land fhall be his poffeffion in Ifrael: and my princes fhall no more oppress my people; and the rest of the land fhall they give to the houfe of Ifrael according to their tribes. 9 Thus faith the Lord GOD; Let it fuffice you, O princes of Ifrael: remove violence and spoil, and execute judgment and juftice, take away your exactions from my people, faith the Lord God. 10 Ye fhall have juft balances, and a juft ephah, and a just bath. 11 The ephah and the bath fhall be of one measure, that the bath may contain the tenth part of an homer, and the ephah the tenth part of an homer: the measure thereof shall be after the homer. 22 And upon that day fhall the prince prepare for himself and for all the people of the land a bullock for a fin offering. 23 And feven days of the feast he shall prepare a burnt offering to the LORD, feven bullocks and feven rams without blemish daily the seven days; and a kid of the goats daily for a fin offering. 24 And he fhall prepare a meat offering of an ephah for a bullock, and an ephah for a ram, and an hin of oil for an ephah. 25 In the feventh month, in the fifteenth day of the month, fhall he do the like in the feast of the seven days, according to the fin offering, according to the burnt offering, and according to the meat of fering, and according to the oil. CHAP. XLVI. 12 And the fhekel fhall be twenty gerahs: twenty fhekels, five and twenty fhe-1 Ordinances for the prince in his worship, kels, fifteen fhekels, fhall be your maneh. and for the people. 13 This is the oblation that ye shall offer; the fixth part of an ephah of an homer of wheat, and ye shall give the fixth part of an ephah of an homer of barley: 14 Concerning the ordinance of oil, the bath of oil, ye hall offer the tenth part of a bath out of the cor, which is an homer of ten baths; for ten baths are an homer: 15 And one lamb out of the flock, out of two hundred, out of the fat paftures of Ifrael; for a meat offering, and for a burnt offering, and for peace offerings, to make reconciliation for them, faith the Lord GOD. 16 All the people of the land fhall give this oblation for the prince in Ifrael. 17 And it fhall be the prince's part to give burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feafts, and in the new moons, and in the fabbaths, in all folemnities of the houfe of Ifrael: he fhall prepare the fin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconcilia. tion for the house of Ifrael. HUS faith the Lord GOD; The gate THUS of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be fhut the fix working days; but on the fabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it fhall be opened. 2 And the prince fhall enter by the way of the porch of that gate without, and fhall ftand by the poft of the gate, and the priest fhall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings, and he fhall worship at the threshold of the gate: then he fhall go forth; but the gate fhall not be shut until the evening. 3 Likewife the people of the land shall worship at the door of this gate before the LORD in the fabbaths and in the new moons. 4 And the burnt offering that the prince fhall offer unto the LORD in the fabbath day fhall be fix lambs without blemish, and a ram without blemish. 5 And the meat offering shall be an ephah for a ram, and the meat offering for the lambs as he fhall be able to give, and an hin of oil to an ephah. 18 Thus faith the Lord GOD; In the 6 And in the day of the new moon it first month, in the first day of the month,hall be a young bullock without blemish, thou shalt take a young bullock without and fix lambs, and a ram: they fhall be blemish, and cleanfe the fanctuary without blemish. 7 And he shall prepare a meat offering, an ephah for a bullock, and an ephah for a ram, and for the lambs according as his hand fhall attain unto, and an hin of oil to an ephah. 19 And the priest fhall take of the blood of the fin offering, and put it upon the pofts of the house, and upon the four corners of the fettle of the altar, and upon the posts of the gate of the inner court. 20 And fo thou shalt do the seventh 8 And when the prince fhall enter, he day of the month for every one that err-fhall go in by the way of the porch of that The prince's inheritance. And this is the north fide. 18 And the caft fide ye fhall measure from Hauran, and from Damafcus, and from Gilead, and from the land of Ifrael by Jordan, from the border unto the eaft fea. And this is the eaft fide. 19 And the fouth fide fouthward, from Tamar even to the waters of ftrife in Kadefh, the river to the great fea. And this is the fouth fide fouthward. 20 The weft fide also shall be the great fea from the border, till a man come over against Hamath. This is the weft fide. 21 So fhall ye divide this land unto you according to the tribes of Ifrael. 9 7 And by the border of Reuben, from the eaft fide even unto the weft fide, a portion for Judah. 8 ¶ And by the border of Judah, from the east fide unto the weft fide, fhall be the offering which ye fhall offer of five and twenty thousand reeds in breadth, and in length as one of the other parts, from the east fide unto the weft fide: and the fanctuary fhall be in the midst of it. 9 The oblation that ye fhall offer unto the LORD fhall be of five and twenty thousand in length, and of ten thousand in breadth. 10 And for them, even for the priests, thall be this holy oblation; toward the north five and twenty thoufand in length, and toward the weft ten thousand in breadth, and toward the caft ten thoufand in breadth, and toward the fouth five and twenty thoufand in length and the fanctuary of the LORD fhall be in the midst thereof. II It fhall be for the priests that are fanctified of the fons of Zadok; which have kept my charge, which went not astray The portion of the fanctuary. DANIEL. Daniel, Sc. refufe the king's meat. aftray when the children of Ifrael went aftray, as the Levites went aftray. 12 And this oblation of the land that is offered fhall be unto them a thing moft holy by the border of the Levites. 13 And over against the border of the priests the Levites hall have five and twenty thousand in length, and ten thoufand in breadth: all the length shall be five and twenty thousand, and the breadth ten thoufand. 14 And they shall not fell of it, neither exchange, nor alienate the firstfruits of the land for it is holy unto the LORD. 15 And the five thousand, that are left in the breadth over against the five and twenty thousand, fhall be a profane place for the city, for dwelling, and for fuburbs: and the city fhall be in the midft thereof. 16 And these ball be the measures thereof; the north fide four thousand and five hundred, and the fouth fide four thousand and five hundred, and on the caft fide four thousand and five hundred, and the weft fide four thousand and five hundred. 17 And the fuburbs of the city fhall be toward the north two hundred and fifty, and toward the fouth two hundred and fifty, and toward the east two hundred and fifty, and toward the west two hundred and fifty. 18 And the refidue in length over against the oblation of the holy portion shall be ten thousand eastward, and ten thoufand weftward: and it fall be over a gainst the oblation of the holy portion; and the increase thereof shall be for food unto them that ferve the city. 19 And they that ferve the city hall, ferve it out of all the tribes of Ifrael. 20 All the oblations fhall be five and twenty thousand by five and twenty thoufand: ye fhall offer the holy oblation fourfquare, with the poffeffion of the city. 21 And the refidue shall be for the prince, on the one fide and on the other of the holy oblation, and of the poffeffion of the city, over against the five and twenty thousand of the oblation toward the east border, and weftward over a gainst the five and twenty thousand toward the west border, over against the portions for the prince: and it shall be the holy oblation; and the fanctuary of the house shall be in the midst thereof. 22 Moreover from the poffeffion of the Levites, and from the poffeffion of the city, being in the midft of that which is the prince's, between the border of Judah and the border of Benjamin, thall be for the prince. 23 ¶ As for the rest of the tribes, from the eaft fide unto the weft fide, Benjamin hall have a portion. 24 And by the border of Benjamin, from the east fide unto the weft fide, Simeon fhall have a portion. 25 And by the border of Simeon, from the east fide unto the weft fide, Iffachar portion. a 26 And by the border of Iffachar, from the east fide unto the west side, Zebulun a portion. 27 And by the border of Zebulun, from the east fide unto the weft fide, Gad a portion. 28 And by the border of Gad, at the fouth fide fouthward, the border shall be even from Tamar unto the waters of ftrife in Kadesh, and to theriver toward the great sea. 29 This is the land which ye fhall divide by lot unto the tribes of Ifrael for inheritance, and these are their portions, faith the Lord GOD. 30 And these are the goings out of the city on the north side, four thousand and five hundred measures. 31 And the gates of the city shall be after the names of the tribes of Ifrael: three gates northward; one gate of Reuben, one gate of Judah, one gate of Levi. 32 And at the eaft fide four thousand and five hundred and three gates; and one gate of Jofeph, one gate of Benjamin, one gate of Dan. 33 And at the fouth fide four thousand and five hundred meafures: and three gates; one gate of Simeon, one gate of Iffachar, one gate of Zebulun. 34 At the weft fide four thousand and five hundred, with their three gates; one gate of Gad, one gate of Afher, one gate of Naphtali. 33 It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The LORD is there. CHAP. II. Nebuchadnezzar forgetteth his dream; 14 Daniel findeth it. 31 The dream, 36 and interpretation. II Then faid Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had fet over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, 12 Prove thy fervants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulfe to eat, and water to drink. 13 Then let our countenance be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat: and as thou feeft, deal with thy fervants. 14 So he confented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days. 15 And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat. 16 Thus Melzar took away the portion 17 As for these four children, God gave 2. Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the aftrologers, and the forcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to' fhew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king. 3 And the king faid unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my fpirit was troubled to know the dream. 4 Then fpake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy fervants the dream, and we will fhew the interpretation. 5 The king answered and faid to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye fhall be cut in pieces, and your houses fhall be made a dunghill. 6 But if ye fhew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore fhew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof. 7 They answered again and faid, Let the king tell his fervants the dream, and we will fhew the interpretation of it. 8 The king answered and faid, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye fee the thing is gone from me. 9 But if ye will not make known.unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to fpeak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I fhall know that ye can fhew me the interpretation thereof. 10 The Chaldeans anfwered before the king, and faid, There is not a man o upon the earth that can fhew the king's matter: therefore |
