25 And they returned from fearching of the Land after forty Days.

26 And they went and came to Mofes and to Aaron, and to all the Congregation of the Children of Ifrael unto the Wilderness of Paran to Kadefh; and brought back Word unto them, and unto all the Congregation, and fhewed them the Fruit of the Land.

27 And they told him, and faid, We came unto the Land whither thou fenteft us, and furely it floweth with Milk and Honey; and this is the Fruit of it.

28 Nevertheless the People be STRONG that dwell in the Land, and the Cities are WALLED, and VERY GREAT: and moreover, we faw the CHILDREN of ANAK there.

30 And Caleb ftilled the People before Mofes, and faid, Let us go up at once, and poffefs it; for we are well ABLE to overcome it.

31 But the Men that went up with him, faid, We be NOT ABLE to go up against the People, for they are STRONGER

than we.

and HEARKENED NOT unto the VOICE

32 And they brought up an EVIL REPORT of the Land which they had searched, unto the Children of Ifrael, faying, The Land through which we have gone to fearch it, is a Land that eateth up the Inhabitants thereof; and all among the Nations, and to scatter the People that we faw in it, them in the Lands. are Men of GREAT a STATURE.

26 Therefore he lifted up his Hand against them to overthrow them in the Wilderness:

27 To overthrow their Seed alfo

33 And there we faw the GIANTS, the SONS of ANAK, which come of the Giants: and we were in our own Sight as GRASHOPPERS, and fo we were in their Sight.

4 And they faid one to another, Let us make a Captain, and let us return into Egypt.

5 Then Mofes and Aaron fell on their Faces before all the Affembly of the Congregation of the Children of Ifrael.

6 And Joshua the Son of Nun, and Caleb the Son of Jephunneh, which were of them that fearched the Land, rent their Cloaths.

7 And they fpake unto all the Company of the Children of Ifrael, faying, The Land which we paffed through to fearch it, is an exceeding good Land.

8 If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this Land, and give it us; a Land which floweth with Milk and Honey.

10 Wherefore I was grieved with that Generation, and faid, They do have not known my Ways. alway err in their Heart; and they

12 TAKE HEFD, left there be in any of you an EVIL HEART OF UNBELIEF, in DEPARTING from the LIVING GOD. while it is called, To days left any 13 But exhort one another daily of you be HARDNED through the DECEITFULNESS of SIN.

17 But with whom was he grieved forty Years? was it not with them that had finned, whofe CARCASES FELL in the Wilderness.

18 And to whom fware he that they should NOT ENTER into his REST, but to them that BELIEVE NOT.

19 So we fee that they could not ENTER IN, because of UNBELIEF. left a Promife being left us of ENTRING into his REST, any of you fhould feem to come short of it.

Heb iv. i Let us therefore FEAR,

2 For unto us was the GOSPEL

preached, as well as unto them; bur the WORD preached did NOT PROFIT them, not being mixed with FAITH in

them that heard it.

3 For we which have BELIEVED, do enter into REST, as he faid, As I have swORN in my WRATH, if they fhall enter into my REST.

6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that fome muft enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached,

entred not in, because of UNBELIEF.

II Let us LABOUR therefore to enter into that REST, left any Man fall after the fame EXAMPLE OF UNBELIEF.

Defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: Fear them not.

10 But all the Congregation bad stone them with Stones and the Glory of the LORD appeared in the Tabernacle of the Congregation before all the Children of Ifrael.

II And the LORD faid unto Mofes, How long will this People provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the Signs which I have fhewed among them?

12 I will fmite them with the Peftilence, and difinherit them, and will make of thee a greater Nation, and mightier than they.

13 And Mofes faid unto the LORD, Then the Egyptians fhall hear it (for thou, broughteft up this People in thy Might from among them)

14 And they will tell it to the Inhabitants of this Land: for they have heard that thou, LORD, art among this People, that thou LORD art feen Face to Face, and that thy

which according to his ABUNDANT MERCY, hath begotten us again unto a LIVELY HOPE, by the RESURRECTION of JESUS CHRIST from the Dead.

4 To an INHERITANCE INCORRUPTIBLE, and UNDEFILED, and that FADETH NOT AWAY, RESERVED IN HEAVEN,

7 That the TRYAL of your FAITH

being much more precious than that of Gold that perifheth, though it be tried with Fire, might be found unto PRAISE, and HONOUR, and GLORY, at the appearing of JESUS CHRIST.

1 John v. 4. Whatsoever is born of GOD, overcometh the World: and this is the VICTORY that OVERCOMETH the WORLD, even our FAITH.

's Who is he that overcometh the World, but he that BELIEVETH that JESUS is the Son of GOD?

16 Because the LORD was not able to bring this People into the Land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath flain them in the Wilderness.

17 And now, I beseech thee, let the Power of my Lord be great, according as thou haft spoken, "faying,

18 The LORD is long-fuffering, and of great Mercy, forgiving Iniquity and Tranfgreflion, and by no means clearing the Guilty, vifiting the Iniquity of the Fathers upon the Children unto the third and fourth Generation.

19 Pardon, I befeech thee, the Iniquity of this People, according unto the Greatnefs of thy Mercy, and as thou haft forgiven this People, from Egypt, even until now. 20 And the LORD faid, I have pardoned, according to thy Word:

21 But as truly as I live, all the Earth fhall be filled with the GLORY of the LORD.

22 Because all thofe Men which have seen my Glory, and my Miracles which I did in Egypt, and in the Wildernefs, and have tempted me now these ten Times, and have not hearkned to Voice;

8 He fhall have DOMINION alfo

from Sea to Sea, and from the River

unto the ENDS of the EARTH.

II Yea, ALL KINGS fhall fall down before him: ALL NATIONS shall SERVE HIM. 19 And bleffed be his glorious Name for ever, and let the whole Earth be filled with his GLORY.

27 How long fhall I bear with this evil Congregation which murmur against me? I have heard the Murmurings of the Children of Ifrael which they murmur against me.

28 Say unto them, As truly as I live, faith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine Ears, fo will I do to you:

29 Your Carcases fhall fall in this Wilderness, and all that were numbred of you, according to your whole Number, from twenty Years old and upwards, which have murmured against me,

30 Doubtlefs ye fhall not come into the Land concerning which I fware to make you dwell therein, fave Caleb the Son of Jephunneh, and Jofhua the Son of Nun.

31 But your Little ones which ye faid fhould be a Prey, them will I bring in, and they fhall know the Land which ye have defpifed.

32 But as for you, your Carcafes they fhall fall in this Wilderness.

33 And your Children fhall wander in the Wilderness forty Years, and bear your Whoredoms, until your Carcafes be wafted in the Wilderness.

34 After the Number of the Days in which ye fearched the Land, even forty Days (each Day for a Year) fhall ye bear your Iniquities, even forty Years, and ye fhall know my Breach of Promife.

35 I the LORD have faid, I will furely do it unto all this evil Congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this Wilderness they fhall be confumed, and there they fhall die.

36 And the Men which Mofes fent to fearch the Land, who returned, and made all the Congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a Slander upon the Land;

37 Even thofe Men that did bring up the evil Report upon the Land, died by the Plague before the LORD.

38 But Joshua the Son of Nun, and Caleb the Son of Jephunneh, which were of the Men that went to search the Land, lived ftill.

39 And Mofes told thefe Sayings unto all the Children of Ifrael and the People mourned greatly.

40 And they rose up early in the Morning, and gat them up into the Top of the Mountain, faying, Lo, we be here, and will go up unto the Place which the LORD hath promifed for we have finned.

41 And Mofes faid, Wherefore now do you tranfgrefs the Commandment of the LORD, but it fhall not profper? 42 Go not up, for the LORD is not among you; that ye be not fmitten before your Enemies.

43 For the Amalekites, and the Canaanites are there before you, and ye fhall fall by the Sword: becaufe ye are
