Bickerton Williams, Esq.; on Congregationalism and Dissent in Bath, by A. C. Hobart Seymour, Esq.; on Congregationalism in Surrey, by Mr. Samuel Evershed; and on Nonconformity in the West Riding, by the Rev. J. G. Miall. These contributions to our pages have, in our esteem, more than a temporary interest. They preserve many facts, the memory of which would otherwise be lost, and will furnish materials of considerable value to the historians of a later age. We venture to renew the appeal which we made in our November number to our ministerial brethren and others to aid us in promoting our circulation. We cannot compete with wealthy and popular publishers in the expenditure of large sums of money on advertisements. But let our friends aid us in introducing our "Three Penny" into circles in which it is entitled to seek a place, and we will compete without fear with other publications in sterling worth and interest. We again invite the attention of our Deacons to the question, whether they may not materially aid our Fund for the benefit of Aged Ministers by an occasional Communion collection? We would not, on any account, interfere with the claims of the poor members of our Churches, or with the Sacramental Collection which is now so generally and so generously devoted to the London Missionary Fund on behalf of the Widows of Missionaries. But consistently with these, we plead for the benevolent object to which the profits of this Magazine have always been devoted. We have now only to commend ourselves and our work to the sympathy and prayers of our brethren, and of the Congregational Churches of the and. May grace be given to us all, that whatsoever we do we may "do it heartily as unto the Lord." STEPNEY, JOHN KENNEDY. November 23rd, 1866. CONTENTS.
