THOUGH troubles assail, and dangers affright, Though friends should all fail, and foes all unite, Yet one thing secures us, whatever betide The scripture assures us, the Lord will provide. 2. The birds without barn or store-house are fed, From them let us learn to trust in our Head; His saints what is fitting shall ne'er be denied, So long as 'tis written the Lord will provide. 3. We may, like the ships, by tempests be tost On perilous deeps, but need not be lost; Though Satan enrages the wind and the tide, The promise engages, the Lord will provide. 4. His call we obey, like Abraham of old; Not knowing our way, but faith makes us bold: 7. When life sinks apace, and death is in view, 21. JOY IN HOPE. 1 CHILDREN of the heavenly King, As ye journey, sweetly sing; Sing your Savior's worthy praise, Glorious in his works and ways. ? We are travelling home to God, In the way the fathers trod; They are happy now, and we Soon their happiness shall see. 3 Shout, ye little flock, and blest, You near Jesus' throne shall rest; There your seats are now prepared, There your kingdom and reward. 4 Fear not, brethren, joyful stand 5 Lord! submissive make us go, REDEEMING LOVE. 1 Now begin the heavenly theme, 2 Ye, who see the Father's grace, 3 Mourning souls, dry up your tears, Banish all your guilty fears; 4 Ye, alas! who long have been 5 Welcome, all by sin oppress'd-Welcome to his sacred rest; Nothing brought him from above, Nothing-but redeeming love. 6 Hither, then, your music bring, Strike aloud each joyful string; Mortals, join the hosts aboveJoin to praise redeeming love. FULL REDEMPTION. 1 WHEN, my Savior, shall I be, 2 Only thee content to know, 3 Fully in my life express PERFECT LOVE. 1 JESUS comes with all his grace, 2 He hath our salvation wrought; 3 We are now his lawful right; Walk as children of the light; We shall soon obtain the grace, Pure in heart to see his face. 4 We shall gain our calling's prize; After God we all shall rise, peace, Perfected in holiness. |
