XI.

LAM. III.

It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed: because His compassions fail not.

They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness.

The Lord is my portion: saith my soul: thereforé will I hope in Him.

The Lord is good unto them that wait for Him: to the soul that seeketh Him.

It is good that a man, should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.

For the Lord will not cast off for ever; but though He cause grief, yet will He have compassion according to the multitude of His mercies.

For He doth not afflict willingly: nor grieve the children of men.

Out of the mouth of the Most High proceedeth not evil and good?

Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord.

Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the Heavens.

Thou hast heard my voice: hide not Thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.

Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon Thee: Thou saidst, fear not.

O Lord, Thou hast pleaded the cause of my soul; Thou hast redeemed my life,

MICAH VI., VII.

Wherewith shall I come before the Lord:
And bow myself before the High God?
Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings;
With calves of a year old?

Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams:
Or with ten thousands of rivers of oil?

Shall I give my first-born for my transgression:
The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good:
And what doth the Lord require of thee;
But to do justly and to love mercy:
And to walk humbly with thy God?

Who is a God like unto Thee; that pardoneth iniquity:

He retaineth not His anger for ever: because He delighteth in mercy.

He will turn again: He will have compassion

upon us:

He will subdue our iniquities:

And Thou wilt cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.
