22, 1841, unto October 1, 1841. For it is written, According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt will I shew unto him marvellous things. The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might; they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf. They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth; they shall be afraid of the Lord our God, and shall fear because of thee. Micah vii. 15, 16, 17.

Now the good Spirit will make manifest in us, that the whole appointed way of God in the deliverance of his creatures is mercy and truth; and the promised way of deliverance from the calling into the Grace of Christ, unto the glorifying by the Grace of Christ is but one and the selfsame way, according to one and the selfsame commandment.

For this is the appointed way,-The just shall live by the hearing of faith in the Word of God. And this is the Commandment,-Sit still, and cease from thine own thoughts, and wait patiently for the revelation of the thoughts of thy God concerning the Truth.

Such is the appointed Way, and such the holy Commandment of the Spirit from the beginning unto the end.

Such is the Way; and such is the Command

ment, to work out the great salvation that is promised unto us of God.

And this is the great salvation. A deliverance from our own thoughts, by the Scriptures, concerning the thoughts of God towards man.

And this salvation is wrought in the creature by the Spirit of God, who at the times appointed reveals, in his creature, his own thoughts towards man, according to the Scriptures.

Therefore the good counsel of the Spirit, unto the creature whom he predestinated to be delivered from all iniquity, is this,-Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the man of iniquity his thoughts; and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will multiply his tender mercies to pardon the penitent. For my thoughts are not like your thoughts, neither are your ways like my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah lv.

Now if our thoughts are not like unto his thoughts, and our ways are not like unto his ways, how then can we attain unto his thoughts by our ways?

But if we must attain unto his thoughts by his own appointed way, and by no other way, then it is manifest that we must forsake our own way, which is after our own thoughts.

What then is the hearing of faith that is imputed to Abraham on July 12, 1812?

This is the great Scripture that was sent unto the foreordained father of many nations on July 12, 1812, as the Spirit is witness, saying,— Looking for that blessed hope, and the appearing, or coming, of the glory of the great God, and our Saviour Jesus Christ. Titus ii. 13.

That is to say,-Looking for that blessed hope, and the coming of our Saviour Jesus Christ in us to reveal in us the glory of our great God, as it is again written,-And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it in like manner, for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. Isaiah xl. 5. And again-For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ our life, and our light, shall appear in our hearts, then shall we also appear with him in glory. Cols. iii. 3, 4.

Yet once more it is written-And we have a more firm prophetic word, whereunto ye do well that ye take heed as unto a candle shining in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts. 2 Pet. i. 19.

So then Christ, in us, the hope of glory, is the

hidden mystery of the Gospel to be revealed in thecreature as the Father had purposed in himself, according to the Scriptures. Now this mystery of the Gospel is sent unto the creature foreordained to be delivered after the order ordained by the Spirit.

First-On July 12, 1812, it is sent unto the creature in a prophetic word-and that Word in the heart of the creature is compared unto a Lamp or Candle shining in a dark place, and not comprehended.

Secondly-From March 14, 1839, the same sure Word of Prophecy is sent as a Vision that is comprehended in part-and the knowledge, in the heart of the creature, is likened unto the Dawning of the Day, when the Truth is partly seen and understood.

Thirdly-From August 22, 1841, when the sure promise of the Spirit begins to be fulfilled in the heart of the creature, by the great appearing of the Thought of God in him, revealing in him the Truth of God; called also the Glory of God. And as this great revelation of the Glory of God is to go on unto perfection, according to the path of the just, which shineth more and more unto the perfect day. Therefore this last stage of the progress of the light, is likened unto the rising of the Sun, until the great noonday hath come.

Now that the creature might know that the

deliverance of his soul from the bondage of error, concerning God and his Truth, is not of his own thoughts by the Scriptures, therefore God appointed the Sabbath, or the day of rest. And this is the spiritual meaning of the same.

When God had shewn his creature that the thoughts of men by the Scriptures did only lead them into error concerning their knowledge of God and Jesus Christ; and had also made manifest in the same creature that the Thought of God, according to the Scriptures, was the only power to deliver from all spiritual error.

When God had made these two great Truths manifest in his creature, and had delivered him from the thoughts of his fellow men, which were his old thoughts, concerning God and Jesus Christ, he then commanded his creature to keep the Sabbath.

That is to say-When God had shewn his creature these things, and had caused his creature to come out from amongst his fellows, because of the infirmity of their errors; which God had not made manifest in them, but had made manifest in his creature. He then commanded him to keep the Sabbath day, and this Commandant was sent unto his creature according to the Scriptures, on Sunday, December 13, 1812.

That is to say-On that day the Spirit commanded me to cease from my labours, to make myself perfect in knowledge concerning God and
