These compounds are thought so beautiful by the Perfian poets, that they fometimes fill a diftich with them, as

Serájeddoula, which fignify in Arabick the force, the ftar, the fun, and the lamp of the state; such also is the title which they gave Lord Clive, M| ïaj Zubdatulmulk the flower of the kingdom; in the same manner they seldom mention the province of Bengála without adding, by way of epithet, jennetulbelâd the paradife of regions, an Arabick title given to that province by Aurengzeeb.
