An outline of Mill's system, like Dr. Fowler's, does him injustice; for it is just in what he thinks most important that he is weakest. Freely acknowledging his indebtedness to Mr. Mill, the author yet puts forth this little book in the belief that it presents, for the first time in the history of science, a comprehensive, self-consistent, and adequate account of the various processes of induction.
