"SIT thou on my right hand, my Son!" saith the Lord. "Sit thou on my right hand, my Son! Till in the fatal hour Of my wrath, and my power, Thy foes shall be a footstool to thy throne! From earth and air and sea, And all that in them be, Which thou for thine heritage hast won!" 66 Daily be thou praised, my Son!" saith the Lord. "Daily be thou praised, my Son! SPIRIT of Truth! on this thy day To guide us through the dreary way We ask not, Lord! thy cloven flame, But long thy praises to proclaim We mourn not that prophetic skill Enough for us to trace thy will We neither have nor seek the power Ill demons to control; But thou in dark temptation's hour, Shall chase them from the soul. L No heavenly harpings soothe our ear, When tongues shall cease, and power decay, Do thou thy trembling servants stay TRINITY SUNDAY. HOLY, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee; Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty! God in three persons, blessed Trinity! Holy, holy, holy! all the saints adore thee, Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea; Cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee, Which wert and art and evermore shalt be! Holy, holy, holy! though the darkness hide thee, Though the eye of sinful man thy glory may not see, Only thou art holy, there is none beside thee, Perfect in power, in love, and purity! |
