know the truth as it is in Jesus, and that they may be one even as Jesus Christ is one with Thee.

Be Thou a wall of defence round about this Church, especially, to preserve it from all that could disturb its peace, its purity, its prosperity. Enable the Pastors who govern it, to watch for its welfare" not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock." Bless the Ministers whom Thou hast in store for the service of this Church; bless them who are preparing themselves for this glorious vocation; grant them an earnest zeal, a serious mind, an apostolic temper. Bless our Magistrates, and all who concur in any manner whatsoever to the good of Religion among us; bless our Country, that it may ever be faithful to thy Word and precious in thine

eyes.

Now to Thee, O Lord, to Jesus Christ thy Son, and to thy Holy Spirit, be honour, praise, and glory, to-day and for ever. Amen.

After this prayer, the ceremony was concluded by the Moderator raising the newly-made Minister, embracing him, and addressing him in these words:

66

Rise, Servant of Christ! you are now an associate in our labours. May grace and peace be given you from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour."-Amen.
