Σατανᾶς τὴν καρδίαν σου, ψεύσασθαί σε τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ ̔́Αγιον, καὶ νοσφίσασθαι ἀπὸ τῆς τιμῆς τοῦ χωρίου; 4 οὐχὶ μένον σοὶ ἔμενε, καὶ πραθὲν ἐν τῇ σῇ ἐξουσίᾳ ὑπῆρχε; τί ὅτι ἔθου ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ σου τὸ πρᾶγμα τοῦτο ; 5 οὐκ ἐψεύσω ἀνθρώποις, ἀλλὰ τῷ Θεῷ. ἀκούων δὲ ̓Ανανίας τοὺς λόγους τούτους, πεσὼν ἐξέψυξε· καὶ ἐγένετο σφόβος μέγας ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς ἀκούοντας ταῦτα. ἀναστάντες δὲ οἱ νεώτεροι συνέστειλαν αὐτὸν, καὶ ἐξενέγ η καντες ἔθαψαν. Εγένετο δὲ ὡς ὡρῶν τριῶν διάστημα, 8 καὶ ἡ γυνὴ αὐτοῦ μὴ εἰδυῖα τὸ γεγονὸς εἰσῆλθεν. ἀπεκρίθη δὲ αὐτῇ ὁ Πέτρος, Εἰπέ μοι, εἰ τοσούτου τὸ 9 χωρίον ἀπέδοσθε; ἡ δὲ εἶπε, Ναὶ τοσούτου. ὁ δὲ Πέτρος εἶπε πρὸς αὐτὴν, Τί ὅτι συνεφωνήθη ὑμῖν πειράσαι τὸ Πνεῦμα Κυρίου; ἰδοὺ οἱ πόδες τῶν θαψάντων τὸν το ἄνδρα σου ἐπὶ τῇ θύρᾳ, καὶ ἐξοίσουσί σε. ἔπεσε δὲ παραχρῆμα παρὰ τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐξέψυξεν· εἰσελ. θόντες δὲ οἱ νεανίσκοι εὗρον αὐτὴν νεκρὰν, καὶ ἐξενέγτι καντες ἔθαψαν πρὸς τὸν ἄνδρα αὐτῆς. καὶ ἐγένετο φόβος μέγας ἐφ' ὅλην τὴν ἐκκλησίαν, καὶ ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς ἀκούοντας ταῦτα.

Διὰ δὲ τῶν χειρῶν τῶν ἀποστόλων ἐγίνετο σημεῖα καὶ τέρατα ἐν τῷ λαῷ πολλά· καὶ ἦσαν ὁμοθυμαδὸν 13 ἅπαντες ἐν τῇ στοῦ Σολομῶντος· τῶν δὲ λοιπῶν οὐδεὶς

ἐτόλμα κολλᾶσθαι αὐτοῖς, ἀλλ ̓ ἐμεγάλυνεν αὐτοὺς ὁ 14 λαός μᾶλλον δὲ προσετίθεντο πιστεύοντες τῷ Κυρίῳ, 15 πλήθη ἀνδρῶν τε καὶ γυναικῶν· ὥστε κατὰ τὰς πλατείας ἐκφέρειν τοὺς ἀσθενεῖς, καὶ τιθέναι ἐπὶ κλινῶν καὶ κραββάτων, ἵνα ἐρχομένου Πέτρου κἂν ἡ σκιὰ ἐπι16 σκιάσῃ τινὶ αὐτῶν. συνήρχετο δὲ καὶ τὸ πλῆθος τῶν πέριξ πόλεων εἰς Ἱερουσαλὴμ, φέροντες ἀσθενεῖς καὶ ὀχλονμένους ὑπὸ πνευμάτων ἀκαθάρτων, οἵτινες ἐθεραπεύοντο ἅπαντες.

̓Αναστὰς δὲ ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς καὶ πάντες οἱ σὺν αὐτῷ, ἡ οὖσα αἵρεσις τῶν Σαδδουκαίων, ἐπλήσθησαν ζήλου,

Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, e Luke 22. 3. 4 and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied 5 unto men, but unto God. And Ananias hearing these words d fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great d ver. 10, 11. 6 fear came on all them that heard these things. And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried e John 19. 40. 7 him out, and buried him. And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what 8 was done, came in. And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And 9 she said, Yea, for so much. Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together fto tempt fver. 3. the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall 10 carry thee out. Then fell she down straightway at 8 ver. 5. his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her I forth, buried her by her husband. 18 καὶ ἐπέβαλον τὰς χεῖρας αὐτῶν ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀποστόλους, καὶ 19 ἔθεντο αὐτοὺς ἐν τηρήσει δημοσίᾳ. ἄγγελος δὲ Κυρίου

διὰ τῆς νυκτὸς ἤνοιξε τὰς θύρας τῆς φυλακῆς, ἐξαγαγών 20 τε αὐτοὺς εἶπε, Πορεύεσθε καὶ σταθέντες λαλεῖτε ἐν 21 τῷ ἱερῷ τῷ λαῷ πάντα τὰ ῥήματα τῆς ζωῆς ταύτης. ἀκού σαντες δὲ εἰσῆλθον ὑπὸ τὸν ὄρθρον εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν, καὶ ἐδίδασκον. παραγενόμενος δὲ ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς καὶ οἱ σὺν αὐτῷ, συνεκάλεσαν τὸ συνέδριον καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν γερουσίαν τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ, καὶ ἀπέστειλαν εἰς τὸ δεσμω 22 τήριον, ἀχθῆναι αὐτούς. οἱ δὲ ὑπηρέται παραγενόμενοι οὐχ εὗρον αὐτοὺς ἐν τῇ φυλακῇ· ἀναστρέψαντες δὲ ἀπ23 ήγγειλαν λέγοντες, Οτι τὸ μὲν δεσμωτήριον εὕρομεν κεκλεισμένον ἐν πάσῃ ἀσφαλείᾳ, καὶ τοὺς φύλακας ἔξω ἑστῶτας πρὸ τῶν θυρῶν· ἀνοίξαντες δὲ, ἔσω οὐδένα 24 εὕρομεν. ὡς δὲ ἤκουσαν τοὺς λόγους τούτους ὅ τε ἱερεὺς καὶ ὁ στρατηγὸς τοῦ ἱεροῦ καὶ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς, διηπόρουν 25 περὶ αὐτῶν, τί ἂν γένοιτο τοῦτο. παραγενόμενος δέ τις ἀπήγγειλεν αὐτοῖς λέγων, Οτι ἰδοὺ οἱ ἄνδρες οὓς ἔθεσθε ἐν τῇ φυλακῇ, εἰσὶν ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ ἑστῶτες καὶ διδάσκοντες 26 τὸν λαόν. Τότε ἀπελθὼν ὁ στρατηγὸς σὺν τοῖς ὑπηρέ ταις, ἤγαγεν αὐτοὺς, οὐ μετά βίας, ἐφοβοῦντο γὰρ τὸν 27 λαὸν, ἵνα μὴ λιθασθῶσιν. ἀγαγόντες δὲ αὐτοὺς ἔστησαν ἐν τῷ συνεδρίῳ· καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτοὺς ὁ ἀρχιερεὺς 28 λέγων, Οὐ παραγγελία παρηγγείλαμεν ὑμῖν μὴ διδάσκειν ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι τούτῳ; καὶ ἰδοὺ πεπληρώκατε τὴν Ἱερουσαλὴμ τῆς διδαχῆς ὑμῶν, καὶ βούλεσθε ἐπαγαγεῖν ἐφ ̓ 29 ἡμᾶς τὸ αἷμα τοῦ ἀνθρώπου τούτου. ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ

Ἰησοῦν, ὃν ὑμεῖς διεχειρίσασθε κρεμάσαντες ἐπὶ ξύλου 31 τοῦτον ὁ Θεὸς ἀρχηγὸν καὶ σωτῆρα ὕψωσε τῇ δεξιᾷ αὐ τοῦ, δοῦναι μετάνοιαν τῷ Ἰσραὴλ καὶ ἄφεσιν ἁμαρτιῶν. 32 καὶ ἡμεῖς ἐσμεν αὐτοῦ μάρτυρες τῶν ῥημάτων τούτων, καὶ τὸ Πνεῦμα δὲ τὸ ̔́Αγιον, ὃ ἔδωκεν ὁ Θεὸς τοῖς πειθαρχοῦσιν αὐτῷ.

But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned, and 23 told, saying, The prison truly found we shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man 24 within. Now when the high priest and "the captain u Luke 22. 4. of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this would grow. 25 Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the tem26 ple, and teaching the people. Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: * for they feared the people, lest they should have been x Matt. 21.26. 27 stoned. And when they had brought them, they set y ch.4. 18. them before the council: and the high priest asked & 3. 15. & 7. 28 them, saying, y Did not we straitly command you that a Matt.23.35. ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, yeh 4.19. have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, zand intend c ch. 3. 13, 15. 29 to bring this man's a blood upon us. ¶ Then Peter à ch. 10. 39. and the other apostles answered and said, "We ought 30 to obey God rather than men.
