THE ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA met, according to appointment, at Atlantic City, N. J., in the Music Hall of the Steel Pier, on Thursday, May 18, 1911, at 10.30 o'clock A.M., and was opened with a sermon by the Moderator, Rev. Charles Little, D.D., from II Kings ii. 12, and II Kings xiii. 14.

After the sermon, the Assembly was constituted with prayer.

The Committee of Arrangements made a partial Report, fixing hours of meeting, which was adopted, and is as follows.

The Committee of Arrangements respectfully recommends, (1) that the Assembly, at the close of this session, take a recess to 2.30 P.M.; (2) that the hours of meeting be from 9.00 A.M. to 12.30 P.M., and from 2.30 to 5.30 P.M., (3) that all the evening meetings begin at 8 o'clock; (4) that the first half-hour of the morning session be given to devotional services.

The Assembly took recess, and was closed with prayer.

THURSDAY, May 18, 2.30 o'clock P.M.

The Assembly met, and was opened with prayer.

Upon the Report of the Permanent Committee on Commissions, the following ministers and elders were recognized as duly appointed Commissioners, and their names were entered upon the
